Naina stood, unwavering, her blood-soaked dress and injured shoulder a testament to the sacrifices she was willing to make for the truth. Her gaze swept over the room, taking in the shattered hearts and the exposed villainy.
"Mrs. Raheja, don't think that just because you have money you'll scoot free from this. Justice will be served," she said firmly, her voice cutting through the anguish like a blade. "For Sujal, for Rajveer, and for the family that you ruined. And I, Captain Naina Singh Ahluwalia, will personally make sure of that."
"I am the Defense Minister of this country, and I will personally ensure that Naina receives the support needed to bring Vasundhara Raheja to justice. Sujal Garewal and his family deserve nothing less," Lala declared firmly. His tone left no room for argument as he gestured to the military police. The local police nodded in acknowledgment before leaving with the military team to collaborate on the case.
As the weight of the moment settled in, Veena's legs buckled beneath her. She almost collapsed, but Rajveer was quick to catch her. For the last ten months, he had called this woman "Maa," and seeing her so shattered broke something inside him. Gently, he helped her to a chair and turned to Rishi.
"Rishi, grab a glass of water for Maa," Rajveer instructed softly.
Rishi's face was etched with pain as he nodded and rushed to fetch the water. Returning moments later, he handed the glass to Rajveer, who helped Veena drink it.
After ensuring Veena was somewhat stable, Rajveer straightened and moved toward Naina, his expression filled with concern.
"Naina, you're losing too much blood. We need to get you to a hospital immediately," he urged, his voice firm yet laced with worry.
"I'm fine for now," Naina replied with a small, reassuring smile. "Go check on the family. They need you."
Her stubbornness only irritated Rajveer further. His jaw tightened as he gave her an exasperated glare. "Alekh, get the first aid kit," he barked.
"Already ahead of you, Sirji," Huda called out with a cheeky grin, stepping forward and handing over the kit.
Without wasting a moment, Rajveer knelt beside Naina. His movements were swift but gentle as he cleaned the wound and applied pressure bandages to both the entry and exit points of the bullet wound. Finally, he secured the area with a proper bandage.
As he worked, his voice softened. "Naina, this isn't something you can brush off. After this, we're going straight to the hospital—no arguments."
Naina nodded reluctantly, touched by his unwavering care. Despite the chaos surrounding them, Rajveer's focus on her was unshakable.
"I love you... so much," Naina whispered, her eyes soft but firm. "But your family needs you. They've been through so much these past two years. They need their son, their brother, their protector, and the head of the family back. Go to them."
Rajveer gazed at her for a moment, a tender smile forming on his face. Without another word, he turned and made his way to Lala.
"Chachaji!" Rajveer greeted warmly.
The moment Lala saw him, he pulled Rajveer into a tight embrace, tears streaming down his face. "Mera bachcha! I missed you so much. And mark my words, if you ever try to leave us again, I'll kill you myself!" Lala's voice cracked with emotion as he cried harder.
Rajveer chuckled through his own tears. "Wouldn't that defeat the purpose, Chachaji?"
Lala pulled back just enough to smack the back of Rajveer's head. "Brat!" he exclaimed, only to pull him back into another crushing hug.
