Persona 5 - The Aftermath

I understand

This girl is weird. We both have the power of Persona, so we have that in common, yet we've practically never spoken before, but she's suddenly inviting me to some weird bar to play pool?

Ok the bar itself is pretty cool. But this is still weird.

Me: "Um, Yoshizawa? Why did you bring me here?"

Yoshizawa: "Please, call me Kas- Sumire."

What was that?

Me: "Ok, Sumire, why are we here?"

Sumire: "I wish to speak with you, Yuki kun, and it's more fun to speak over a game of Billiards."

Me: "Speak about what exactly?"

Sumire: "Game first, if you wouldn't mind."

Fine, I give.

We start playing but as I'm a complete beginner, I can't make any shots. Except the white ball.

Sumire: "Foul! Now it's my turn."

She on the other hand barely misses a shot, she's on the 8 ball now, her last shot.

Sumire: "Looks like it's... game!"

She hits the 8 ball in... but she's not happy? Oh she got the white ball in too.

Sumire: "noooooooo, that means you win."

Really? I won?

Me: "Wow, I guess that was pretty fun."

Sumire: "Right? When Ren first took me here we had so much fun, I had put in a lot of practice so I could beat him, looks like I still need some more."

She has a sort of earnest smile that makes you want to root for her, if I didn't have Aigis my heart would've leaped just now.

Me: "So we played, can you tell me why we're here now?"

Sumire: "Oh! Yes right, I meant to speak as we were playing but I got so into it I forgot. Sorry..."

So she's a clutz, that's definitely Ren's future bride.

Sumire: "To be honest, I brought you here because I understand."

Me: "You understand what?"

Sumire: "The pain in your eyes. I know it because I've felt it myself."

You don't mean...

Sumire: "Feeling that you don't deserve to live, I understand that feeling well. I could see it in your eyes, the grief you carry."

I have to fight a tear from coming, this is so unlike me!

Me: "I..."

Sumire: "It's ok, you don't have to say it, I just want you to know that you are not alone."

Me: "Thank you, Sumire, I... I'm not ready to talk about it yet, but I will."

Sumire: "That's good, but with the girl you love right?"

Me: "Yeah, I'll tell Aigis, just like how you told Ren right?"

She has a sort of forced smile on her face right now.

Sumire: "Yes and no, I partially told him and he was partially shown."

Me: "Oh, I just assumed because of love-"

She turned as red as a tomato just now.

Sumire: "Lo- lo- lo- love? N- no I don-"

Me: "Sumire, your reaction is everything I need to hear, I know."

Sumire: "It doesn't matter, he just wants to be friends with me."

Me: "I'm no romance expert, but as someone who's rejected a girl he loves due to timing, I'll tell you this, I think you have a better shot that he's letting you believe."

Sumire: "Wha? Did he talk about me?"

Me: "I should probably head back, you coming?"

Sumire: "No I'm going to stay here to practice some mor- HEY DON'T CHANGE THE SUBJECT, GET BACK HERE!"

I'm running away now. I don't wanna say too much.
