Oh how I long,
For that glorious day,
When I meet face to face,
The One who made a way.Our Creator, King Jesus,
Has raised up a family,
Of reprobate sinners,
Redeemed from calamity.It has been His good will,
From eternity past,
To make us a family,
Bound with love that will last.Though we broke His heart,
And rejected Him;
He went to the cross,
And stretched wide His limbs.It should have been us,
Who were nailed to the tree,
But Jesus took our place,
So that we might be free;Free to rejoin,
The family of God.
By faith our sin's cleansed,
Now in heaven we trod.To be born again,
And receive this new life.
We need only trust Jesus,
Who with mercy is rife.Now the day our last breath,
Is exhaled on this earth,
Will be great cause for joy,
And unfading good mirth.For then we will see Him,
And be made as He is;
There will be no more sorrow,
For all that are His.Every tear that we've shed,
He will wipe away.
There'll be redress for hurts,
And final end to decay.For in love Jesus swallowed,
All our pain and tears.
He was crushed by the weight,
Of our sinful arrears.But Death could not hold Him;
The spotless slain Lamb.
He arose and ascended;
He's the great I Am.How I long for the day,
When I'll behold His face,
And be gloriously wrapped,
In His loving embrace.Our gracious King Jesus,
Desires our good.
Because He is love,
In our place He stood.The barrier between,
God and man He's removed.
His cross bridged the gap;
All who trust Him are approved.Come now to Jesus,
So on that day you may,
Bask in the glow,
Of Him who made the way.
