"Miss Waller, can you answer the question please?"
"No. Sorry."
"Why?"
"I don't have a sheet." Wren blurted out panicking and slide the empty sheet under her textbook.
"And you didn't think to tell me that fifty-five minutes ago when the lesson began?"
"No. Sorry."
"Get the notes from a friend and I want the completed sheet on my desk this morning. Right guys, pack up and off you go, I want homework next Thursday and Wren, that sheet tomorrow please."
"Yes Miss." Wren nodded dutifully and packing up, internally panicking as she realised the only person she had ever spoken to in this class was Jess, who'd spent the whole hour reading an old book and poking her in the back to annoy her. "See you tomorrow." She all but whispered, falling into the group of students streaming out of the class and into the hallway.
"Hey, Wrennie!" Robin yelled loudly and wrapped an arm around his sister, not noticing the blush reaching her ears or the stares from everyone else in the school. "And Jess!" He called, noticing the bemused teen stood by his sister.
"Hi guys, you alright?" Scotty asked, quieter than his friend but grinning the same.
"Are you two drunk?" Wren screwed her nose up, pushing her brother away from her face.
"Best way to get over a hangover, is to get drunk again." Scotty philosophized, resting his arm on Robin's shoulders.
"You're so smart, Scotty." Robin drawled sappily, poking his friend in the cheek as Scotty grinned down at him.
"I know."
"Come on, we'll go home, yeah?" Wren sighed, rolling her eyes at her wasted brother, praying he wasn't going on another drunken bender. "Come on, Scotty, you can sleep it off on the sofa too." She offered and Scotty broke into a beaming grin, Robin grinning right beside him.
"Cool. Sleepover!" Robin yelled, words slightly slurred. "C'mon Scotty. Sleepover." He repeated and shot a wink to the other guy, though it looked like a twitch and Scotty grinned wider.
"Right, come on, Robbie." Wren breathed, linking arms with her older brother and pulling him gently along as he interlocked fingers with Scotty, stumbling forward.
"You need any help?" Jess asked innocently as Robin began belting out the national anthem, gaining the attention of the teachers nearby.
"No, I've got it covered." She smiled sarcastically and Jess winked at her as he took Scotty's arm, leading the two drunk eighteen year olds out of the school hurriedly. "This way."
