The Max Level Boss Is Being Forced to Work Today

Chapter 1: Enthusiastic Citizen Mr. Wang

"Marshal! The transport ship has encountered a sudden malfunction and is out of control! We've sent a distress signal!"

"We're detecting a Wormhole energy wave up ahead, Marshal!"

The massive silver ship shook violently, and the piercing alarm echoed throughout the cabin.

While the ship's loss of control was alarming, it was the approaching Wormhole that had everyone onboard in a panic.

"Marshal!"

"Enough! If shouting louder would help, I'd be joining you!"

In the center of the crowd stood Yu Chu, the imperial marshal who had led countless victories, now heading to the palace for a celebratory ceremony with her troops. She felt a headache coming on from all the shouting.

Calmly adjusting the ship's controls, the blaring alarms didn't even stir her heart.

Her subordinates worked frantically, but the damage was too severe. Watching the red dot on the display close in rapidly, she turned to her deputy.

"M-Marshal..."

The deputy's eyes were wide with fear, reflecting the unexpected danger that had arisen.

If only, if only he had known...

Seeing his deputy's state, Yu Chu understood everything immediately.

"You're really too impatient."

"Marshal! Listen to me..."

In an instant, a powerful force engulfed the entire ship.

After a sharp, piercing sound, Yu Chu's consciousness plunged into darkness.

"Hey, Boss Zhao, looks like you had a good haul today!"

On the white star, outside the dangerous and mysterious Second Domain Forest, Wang Xin greeted Zhao You and his team, who had just completed a mission and were heading back to the mercenary guild.

"Not really; we just found some star beasts going through a frenzy these past few days. But hey,  it's a great time for missions. You should take advantage of it!"

"Don't worry, Boss Zhao. Once I wrap up things at home in a couple of days, I'll join you for missions." Wang Xin waved dismissively.

"Make sure to let me know in advance."

"Of course! Thanks for looking out for me!"

"Brothers don't need to be polite."

Zhao You waved goodbye, and the two groups parted ways.

Wang Xin, carrying the rewards he just exchanged at the guild, walked along the familiar path out of the forest.

"Hmm? What's that..."

Suddenly, a strange bump in the middle of the path startled Wang Xin out of his daydream. He squinted, and upon realizing what the bump was, he quickly threw his bag aside and rushed over.

In the center of the dirt road surrounded by trees, a child's face was half-buried in the ground, covered in mud.

Wang Xin leaned down to check for a pulse and, upon feeling a breath, he quickly began digging the child out.

"Looks like a kid around 12 or 13, just off the small path outside the Second Domain Forest..."

When Yu Chu awakened from the darkness, the first thing she saw was Wang Xin's face.

The man looked overly excited upon seeing him awake, but Yu Chu remained momentarily dazed.

When Wang Xin reached out, Yu Chu instinctively grabbed his hand and twisted it hard.
