After buying a optical computer and adding Wang Xin and Liu Ye as new friends, Yu Chu immediately began searching for information about the Tianliu Empire.
[Tianliu Empire, established on March 2, 2220 Star Calendar. Located in the southern star domain... In September 2326 Star Calendar, the Tianliu Empire was besieged by four major forces, including the Chi Xue Nation. The empire was destroyed in December 2326...]
Yu Chu glances at the real-time display in the lower right corner of the screen.
Star Calendar Year 2420...
So, she has arrived roughly a hundred years into the future ?
The day she returned to the capital for the victory banquet, it was July 23, 2326. If the accident back then truly caused her to disappear from that timeline, and the empire's marshal fell, then just two months after her death, the Tianliu Empire—that she defended for so long—was suddenly besieged and completely destroyed?
That shouldn't have happened.
Yu Chu turned her head, troubled, gazing out at the star gradually covered by clouds, her mind racing.
Logically, just after driving back the frequent invasions from the Krelier Empire at the border, Tianliu's total military strength, with her as marshal for the last two years, far surpassed other nations and had established deep ties with surrounding countries.
Ignoring how four countries suddenly united for an attack, given Tianliu's strength at the time, even if she wasn't there, it seemed implausible that the empire would fall in just four months.
Yu Chu's fingers tapped as she quickly listed out the countries involved in the siege battle back then.
With a single glance, she understand when she see those five words: Harris Royal Court—a mysterious, self-isolated nation with the highest level of advanced technology and military power.
During her service, Yu Chu never confronted anyone from the Harris Royal Court because they never initiated conflicts and rarely interacted with other nations outside their court.
It was like an isolated, mythical realm among countless stars—full of coveted treasures but deadly to outsiders. Nobody dared risk their future against a mad force that once single-handedly repelled an attack from five empires.
Indeed, the Star Calendar Year 2326 saw a great interstellar war, marking a bold entry for the name "Harris Royal Court" in the annals of history.
That was when the interstellar order was completely reshuffled, giving birth to the Sharo Empire amidst the chaos.
But who would have thought that shortly after the incident, the long-dormant Harris Royal Court would suddenly make a move?
Even more terrifying, after destroying Tianliu in alliance with the other nations, the entire Harris Royal Court mysteriously vanished from the interstellar stage the following year.
Subsequently, another widespread war broke out across the central star domain, the interstellar powers were redivided, and everything was reshuffled, marking the beginning of a new era.
Yu Chu shut off her optical-computer interface, her mind cluttered with mixed thoughts.
She feels a complex sense of melancholy but quickly adjusted her mood, pulls up her blanket, and go to sleep.
The next morning, Yu Chu messages Wang Xin, asking if he has time to be a free tour guide.
Wang Xin quickly agreed. He zooms over in a hovercraft similar to Liu Ye's, picking up Yu Chu from the temporary residence.
Looking at the small hovercraft, Yu Chu winced, reminding Wang Xin to drive steadily.
As they enter the city, they are stopped by the local police.
"There's a large celebration event in the city today. To prevent congestion and accidents, all flights are temporarily prohibited," the officer explained.
Wang Xin parks at the designated area and starts messaging his friends, inviting them to join the fun.
Yu Chu, observing the bustling scene, is eager to move. But with a pocket containing only 1,200 star credits, she can only rub her face in frustration.
"The city celebrations don't happen often. There will be lots of activities and discounts at various shops. If you want to buy something, today's a great chance," Wang Xin explains as he led Yu Chu into the city.
"What's the celebration for?" Yu Chu asked as they step into the vibrant city, feeling the festive joy in the air.
"Could be a dignitary returning, an official visit from the higher-ups, or a local child getting into a top military academy. This time, I heard it's because a high-ranking official from the capital is visiting, but that's just a rumor. For us common folk, it's all about enjoying the festivities," Wang Xin explained.
Yu Chu nods in agreement.
Meanwhile, at a high-end reception hall in the city center, two middle-aged men and a quiet young boy of about 15 are discussing something in a guarded private room.
"Director Yan, I'm entrusting this child, Luo Qi, to your care. He's been through a lot recently, and with the recent family upheavals, I want to give him a peaceful environment," Lin Baisheng said earnestly.
"Minister Lin, you worry too much. Leave it to me," Yan Xian assured.
Lin Baisheng thanked him, then turns to Luo Qi, patting his shoulder gently. "Qi, I know you're still upset about your parents. But stay strong here; I'll handle things in the capital. Take care of yourself."
Luo Qi nods in silence, then asks in a hoarse voice, "Uncle, can I go to the viewing platform alone?"
After some hesitation, Lin Baisheng agrees.
On the platform, Luo Qi leans against the railing, gazing down at the cheerful, bustling crowd below, his face reflecting his inner turmoil.
Suddenly, a massive force shoved him from behind, and the scene before his eyes turned into a blur.
In the chaos, someone grabbed him.
"Wang Xin's voice rang out below, terrified: "Yu Chu!"
Yu Chu, swift as a butterfly, pulled on a red ribbon hanging from the building, flipping onto a float passing by below. The moment of weightlessness ended as she grabbed Luo Qi securely, his steady face coming into view.
Then, a painful cracking sound echoed. Luo Qi's pupils widened in shock.
Yu Chu calmly set him down and sat to adjust her dislocated ankle.
After a loud snap, Wang Xin ran over, stunned.
"The landing was off, just sprained my ankle, nothing serious," Yu Chu said, testing her foot. "I'm fine, check on the young man here instead."
As guards rushed over to check on them, Wang Xin scolded, "You scared me! I turned away for a second, and you jumped!"
Yu Chu chuckled, "What's the big deal? Stay calm."
Just then, Luo Qi, still unsteady on his feet, walks over, his face filled with guilt.
"Thank you," he said, looking at Yu Chu's foot.
"It's nothing. You weren't hurt, right?" Yu Chu reassured him.
"Sorry..." Luo Qi mumbled.
Seeing his guilt-ridden face, Yu Chu scratched her head, then blurted out, "If you feel that bad, just pay me. Fifty star credits. Cash or bank transfer?"
Luo Qi froze, then, fumbling with his pocket, quickly handed over two gold star cards.
Yu Chu accepted the cards without hesitation, leaving Wang Xin in shock.
Yu Chu: Tired smile.
It was such a greedy move; she felt like chopping off her own hands.
