Friction to Affection

Chapter - 4

Victoria's POV:

I was fuming with anger as i stormed away. I was angry and annoyed and i just wanted to vent my anger out. I sighed and rubbed my eyes as i was reaching for my phone and called my best friend, Elena.

I watched as it was ringing and after a while she picked up.

"YOO BESTIE!!! how do you do?!" Elena yelled in pure excitement while giggling.

I smiled softly when i heard her excitement. She was always like this since childhood. All extroverted, excitedly, giggly, playful and what not.

"Hey Elena, can we meet up real quick?" I asked her softly and curiously. There was a moment of silence until I heard her giggling again.

"Of course! Why not? I am already dead here in the hospital from all that paperwork and surgeries! I'll meet ya at our usual cafe in a few mins!!" Elena said happily and hunged up the call without even waiting for my response.

I laughed, already feeling my anger subside. A sigh escaped my lips as i started walking towards the cafe. It was a 5 minute walk from my place so i arrived before her and stood outside the cafe, waiting for Elena to arrive.

A few minutes later.. I saw a familiar figure approaching and my lips curled up in a smile when i saw that it was Elena.

"Bestieeeee! Long time no seeee!!" Elena cried out as she pounced on me, hugging me tightly as if she never want to let go.

I laughed heartily while hugging her back.

"haha hey! I missed u too" I said.

Elena giggled and linked her arms with mine as she dragged me inside the cafe.

We went inside and settled down at a cozy table near the window. It didn't go unnoticed from my observant eyes that she was still wearing her doctors coat. I smiled proudly, cause i know that she is a successful surgeon and have worked really hard to achieve this title.

"Hey Elena?" i said so that i can get her attention.

Elena's face was buried in the menu. She looked up when i called her and grinned widely. "yea?" she asked.

"You are still wearing your doctors coat. Maybe you should remove it for as long as we are here at the cafe." I suggested while pointing at her coat.

Her eyes widened and she looked down at herself and giggled. She then removed her Coat and shoved it inside her purse.

" sowwy~" Elena said cheekily.

I chuckled at her cute mannerisms. After a few minutes,a waiter arrived at our table to take our order and Elena immediately started placing her huge order and making every dish 2 plated for me too. I knew she had a huge sweet tooth.

After waiting for a bit, our table was then filled with many sweets and 2 cups of coffee. She immediately started devouring the food while i was drinking my coffee. And then.. I finally spoke up.

"So,the reason i called you here is because i wanna talk to you about a certain incident that happened with me earlier this morning."

She looked up at me while her mouth was filled with food. She gave me a nod, a silent gesture for me to continue.

"I met Alexander today"

The moment Elena heard this. She choked on her food. "what?!"

"yes. We met today for a business meeting" i explained while she was just staring at me in shock.

"so? He is your rival, am i right? Did anything happened between you both?"

"Yeah of course he is my rival as you know and you also know how annoying he is. But you know what? He was looking so damn good in that black suit he was wearing" i muttered while blushing a bit in embarrassment.

My words made Elena laugh loudly.
"ha ha ha.. You and your blushing tendencies. You said that he is your rival, but... Do you have a secret crush on him or something?" Elena teased while wiggling her eyebrow.

"shut up, idiot! There is nothing like that." i said in a defensive tone.

Elena chuckled and leaned forward with her elbow on the table and her head resting on her palm. "yea, yea, keep telling that to yourself. You know that i am not buying it."

I pouted,feeling exposed "okay fine. It's not like I like him but maybe he have gotten a bit more attractive after all these years."

This made Elena laugh some morw. She was clearly enjoying herself. I decided to change the subject before i made myself more embarrassed. "by the way.. What about you? Is there someone who might've caught your attention?"

"of course there are! I love those anime boys and mafias from romance novels hehe. They are soooo fine ahh." Elena gushed excitedly while swooning.

I rolled my eyes and shook her head, of course she loves those fictional guys. Typical Elena.

"i am not talking about those fictional guys! Come back to reality, idiot." i said matter-of-factly. She only giggled, not taking me seriously at all.

"do you hear me?" i asked.

"no i am deaf" Elena said mischievously with a smirk.

I groaned loudly in resignation. "goddd! You are insufferable! I don't even know why i deal with you" i said with a huff as i got up, ready to leave.

Her eyes widened and she quickly inhaled the food and followed me.

"wafo mai! (wait for me!)" she said with her face still stuffed with food as she got in pace with me and linked her arms with mine again.

We kept walking in silence for a bit until she exclaimed. "ohh! Ohh! Lemme drop you home in my Rolls Royce! Yay!." she the started dragging me with her.

I was surprised. Huh? A Rolls-Royce? For real?

"wait... So you are telling me that you own the luxury Rolls-Royce?!" i asked her in pure shock which made her giggle and nod. I didn't believe her until i was standing in front of a matte black luxury Rolls-Royce. The unbelievable sight made me gasp and i looked at Elena who had a proud smile on her face.

"how'd you.." i muttered. I was completely speechless.

"ya ya i know it's super sick. Now get in!!" Elena commanded with a giggle as she pushed me inside the car.

The car was super cool and Elena was driving it as smooth as butter. I was in disbelief but still i was proud of her. After a while,Elena stopped the car in front of my huge house.

" alright Elena, thanks for dropping me. You wanna come inside?" i asked her curiously.

"thanks for the invitation but i gotta go home. Me being a surgeon, i have to go to work early. But.. I will come inside only when you'll introduce me to my brother in law" Elena smirked cheekily and wiggled her eyebrows.

I blushed and muttered a small 'shut up' before i got out of the car and closed the door. I watched as she drived away. "god.. She's such a cheeky little thing" I thought to myself as i was walking inside my house. Today was one hella day and i wonder what tomorrow will have in store for me.
