Friction to Affection

Chapter - 9

Elena's POV:

I walked down the hospital corridors happily while whistling. The hospital was bustling with people like always. I took a deep breath... The hospital had a comforting smell of.. Medicines.. This made me giggle to myself before i continued my walk, greeting everyone around me warmly.

I was so emersed in greeting everyone that i didn't even saw where i was going. The moment i turned around the corner, i bumped into someone and a loud gasp escaped my lips. My eyes were shut close because i thought i was gonna fall but.. I didnt?

I was confused so i opened my eyes.. But then my eyes widened when i realized that i was in the arms of.. Xavier Lloyd?

Xavier is a fellow surgeon of mine. He is tall and have a lean physique with messy blonde hair and gentle green eyes and he also wear glasses.. Those typical round glasses which gives him a overall shy look and he have dimples too.

Xavier have been my colleague for a long time but i never really talked to him. I don't know anything about him.. Except his name and the fact that he is a Neuro surgeon.

Anyways, we both stare at each other for a while. My huge black doe eyes were locked with his sharp green eyes, until he blinked, he snapped out of his trance and blushed furiously before she stood up straight and bowed 90°.

"i-i am sorry!!" he stuttered out.

I just stood there, staring at him with a dumbfounded expression until i regained my composure and grinned while waving my hand in the air dismissively.

"ahh. It's alright it's alright.. Why are u apologizing when you are the one who saved me from falling?". I asked him as i looked up at him and tilted my head curiously.

He looked back at me, staring at my face for a moment until he replied..
"u-umm.. Well i-i mean.. I d-dunno.."
He mumbled as he looked away, while rubbing the back of his neck.

There was silence between us. Him rubbing his neck and me just staring at me. I thought it was getting too awkward for him so i spoke up.

"soo.. You are.. Dr. Xavier right?"

He nodded and said "yea.. That's me"

I beamed and held out my hand for a hand shake.

"nice to meet you!! Myself Elena! Better known as Dr, Ele!!"

Xavier looked down at my hand, then back at my face before he blushed a bit and awkwardly shook my hand while speaking shyly. "nice to meet you too"

I looked down at our intertwined hands. Noticing how his hand is huge, calloused and rough while mine are small and soft. The size difference made me giggle. We kept shaking our hands for a while after he let go and looked away and then back at me.

"s-so.. I-uhh-" he started.

"Oh!! I am gonna ge late for surgery!!
I exclaimed, making him stop mid-sentence."i gotta go!! Bye!!"
I immediately scurried away without even waiting for his response.
