Just then, a junior officer approached and shared the latest update. "The suspect confessed that he was paid to shoot Jeon Jungkook," he revealed.Taehyung and Seokjin clenched their fists, outraged.
"The person who hired him is Beom-seok, CEO of YPS Entertainment," the officer continued, before excusing himself to continue the investigation.
Officer Kim Daehyun, leading the case, added, "We've been investigating Beom-seok for his involvement in drug dealing and illegal weapon smuggling."
Seokjin took a deep breath to calm his anger. "Do whatever it takes, Officer. That man must go to jail."
Taehyung remained silent, his expression stern. He nodded at Daehyun in gratitude and left with Namjoon. Seokjin soon followed.
At the hospital, Taehyung went straight to Jungkook's room after leaving the police station. Jungkook looked up at him with curiosity.
"Hyung, did the officer tell you who did this?" Jungkook asked.
Taehyung, who had been gently caressing Jungkook's cheeks, paused and sighed.
"Yes, but don't worry about that now. Let's focus on your recovery. The doctor said we can take you home in a week."
Jungkook's face lit up with a smile, and he nodded.
After a week:-
It had been a week, and today Jungkook was finally being discharged. He was ecstatic to return home. However, yesterday's argument with Taehyung still lingered.
Taehyung had insisted on taking Jungkook to his own home, citing safety concerns, but Jungkook initially resisted, wanting to return to his own apartment. Eventually, Jungkook relented, agreeing to Taehyung's plan.
Jungkook's father, who lived in Busan with Seokjin, wouldn't be joining them. The doctor advised against traveling in Jungkook's condition.
Jungkook sat in Taehyung's car, with Namjoon driving and Jimin accompanying them. Jimin had packed clothes for both Jungkook and himself. They were headed to Taehyung's mansion, where his family resided.
As they approached the mansion, Jungkook's nerves began to show; he bit his nails anxiously. Taehyung reassured him, taking his hand. "Don't worry, they won't say anything to you." Jungkook nodded and sighed.
Upon arrival, Taehyung helped Jungkook into a wheelchair, while Namjoon and Jimin retrieved the luggage. At the door, the maid greeted them with a bow.
Inside, Taehyung's mother and grandmother sat in the living room. His mother rose, eyeing each of them before focusing on Taehyung. "Mom, Jungkook is someone special," Taehyung explained. "You've likely heard about the shooting incident. I won't compromise on his safety, so I brought him here." He introduced Jimin as Jungkook's manager, who bowed respectfully.
Taehyung's mother expressed concern. "How are you, dear?" she asked Jungkook.
"I'm feeling better now, and sorry for the inconvenience, Mrs. Kim," Jungkook replied.
She shook her head. "No, dear, you're not an inconvenience. You're special to Taehyung, like my own son."
As she directed the maids to show Jimin and Jungkook to their rooms, Taehyung intervened. "Mom, Jungkook will stay with me."
Jungkook's face flushed, and she exchanged a knowing glance with Taehyung. "Okay, Tae," she said softly.
Taehyung ushered Jungkook into his room, locking the door behind them. With a mischievous grin, he knelt before Jungkook's wheelchair.
"Your servant at your service, Mr. Jeon," Taehyung teased, his eyes sparkling. "What's your pleasure?"
Jungkook giggled, playing along. "Now, I desire rest. Carry me to the bed, peasant."
Taehyung chuckled, scooping Jungkook up gently. He laid him down on the plush bed, arranging pillows to support his injured side.
As Jungkook settled in, Taehyung fetched a damp towel to gently wipe away the sweat from Jungkook's face. Jungkook's eyes fluttered closed, enjoying the tender touch.
Next, Taehyung slid beside Jungkook, propping himself up on an elbow. He cradled Jungkook's hand, pressing soft kisses on the back.
"You're my world, Jungkook," Taehyung whispered, his voice filled with emotion.
Jungkook's heart skipped a beat. His eyes locked onto Taehyung's, overflowing with affection.
"You are also my everything, Tae," Jungkook replied, his voice barely above a whisper.
Taehyung's gaze intensified. "I'm so grateful you're safe. The thought of losing you..." His voice trembled.
Jungkook's fingers intertwined with Taehyung's. "I'm here, Tae. Forever."
Taehyung's lips brushed against Jungkook's forehead. "Forever," he echoed.
As they basked in each other's presence, Jungkook's eyelids grew heavy. Taehyung settled in beside him, holding him close.
"Rest, my love," Taehyung whispered. "I'll be here, always."
