Sixteen

"Good job Ning! You did amazing up there!!" Bella, one of Ningning's classmates congratulated her once Ningning had gotten back.
She looks at the girl with a frightened look on her face before letting out a relieved sigh.

"That was terrifying. I'm used to going up on stage in groups, not by myself?!? I thought I was going to shit myself." Ningning screams as it made Bella chuckle.
"But you did well at the end, so it doesn't matter. Plus I think you got the most round of applause throughout this whole talent show." Bella tells her as that somehow manages to calm Ningning down.

*knock, knock!

They hear someone knocking on the door as the two girls looked over to see their teacher standing by the door.

"Ningning, someone's waiting for you in the other room." Her teacher informs her as it made her furrow her brows.
"Ah alright. I'll be there in a sec." She replies before the teacher left the room.

She looks over at Bella with fear in her eyes.
"Guess I gotta go. See you later Bella." She quickly bids goodbye to her friend before making her way to the other room.

Ningning enters the room before closing the door behind her. She still hasn't looked at who the hell was waiting for her.

When she finally looked back, she got the biggest fright of her life.
There she sees Keyu leaning against the wall with his arms crossed above his chest as he raises a brow at her when she looks at him with a perplexed expression.

"Key, what are you doing here..." She decided to ask the most dumbest question, even though she knew the answer to it.

"I should have said it before, but I tend to get bored." He sang a lyric of her song before letting out an amused chuckle.
"I wonder how many times you said the word 'bored' in your song." He stated as she looked at him in embarrassment.

Ningning's face turning red as she puffs her cheeks.

"*hmph! If you're only here to make fun of me then I do not appreciate it." She says angrily as she crosses her arms.

There again she hears him let out a laugh.
"I'm not here to make fun of you Yizhuo." He says as he starts to walk closer to her.

"I think you should drop the dumb act Ning. We both know why I'm here. You don't take enough credit for how smart you are. Were you not expecting to see me here?" Keyu stated as he was now in front of her.
Ningning not wanting to drop the act only continues to act clueless.
"I have no idea what you're talking about-"

Ningning getting startled when he pulls her into his embrace.
"我想你 (I miss you)." He says quietly.

Those were the words that she's been wanting to hear yet why does it seem so sad. Isn't she supposed to be the one saying that, not him?

She clutches his shirt as she finally decided to drop the act.

"I'm sorry Key." She stated as he looks down at her. Furrowing his brows as it indicates for her to continue talking.

"I'm sorry for not telling you the truth from the beginning. It's true that at first, I just wanted to date you because I felt left out that all my other friends were in relationships but I wasn't, and I wanted to know what it was like to have a boyfriend. I was probably playing with your feelings because I was bored. But the more I spent time with you, the more I enjoy having your presence around me. And the more I started to fall for you Key. Any thoughts of me dating you because I was fomo disappeared after we finished our project together, I swear. I was avoiding you for a whole week because I was trying to sort myself and my feelings out. I've never experienced falling in love so the feeling was bizarre and I didn't know how to react properly. It wasn't until you told me that you wanted some space, that I realised that I messed up. I guess you are right. When I'm bored, all I think about is you. Ningning struggled to say the next few words as her mouth started to quiver and tears started to cover her vision.

"I really love you a lot Zhou Keyu. I was just too afraid to admit that and I'm sorry." She finally said it before breaking down as she tries to wipe her tears away but they wouldn't stop rolling down her face.

A soft smile was plastered on his face as he caressed the back of her head.

"Thank you Ning. That's what I've been wanting to hear from you." He says before grinning as his eyes turned into crescents.
She'd never seen him smile so brightly before.
"Now stop crying. You don't look good when you're crying. You're an ugly cryer." He teases as it angers her as she started hitting his chest. Keyu only laughing out loud as he pulls her closer to him.

"I'm just kidding." He laughs softly before whispering something in her ears.
"You're a pretty cryer. Everything you do is pretty."
