Bethany was exhausted. Trying to teach dozens of rambunctious teenagers on Halloween was never easy. Years of experience, however, made this year's fright fest a little easier.

"All right, everyone settle down," she said to her students as the final hour of classes arrived. "Today we are going to watch my all-time favorite ghost movie." The announcement elicited cheers from the kids, who couldn't wait to be done with school for the day. "If you're good, we'll watch the second half on Monday."

She turned out the lights, always a risky proposition with a classroom full of mischievous teens, and was pleasantly surprised as all the kids sat quietly, waiting for the movie stream to begin. As the opening scene began, however, silence turned to groans.

"If you build it, he will come," the eerie voice repeated as Kevin Costner's Ray Kinsella got increasingly agitated in his Iowa cornfield. "If you build it, he will come."

"This isn't a horror movie," one particularly disappointed student who had obviously seen the movie before said, turning to Bethany, who had taken a seat at the back of the classroom. "It's a baseball movie."

"Just wait," Bethany answered confidently, having expected this objection. "The ghosts are coming." This settled the class for the time being. She hoped they would stay pacified long enough until Ray Liotta's character, the ghost of Shoeless Joe Jackson, finally appeared in the rural ballpark built just for him.

Bethany and Jack had been planning a Field of Dreams Halloween for some time, agreeing that it was only appropriate, since their relationship was born out of their mutual love of baseball.

"That's not a ghost," another student chimed in some time later, as Shoeless Joe and Ray exchanged awkward pleasantries and hit some balls around the illuminated diamond.

Bethany ignored the comment, since the rest of the class was focused on the compelling plot based on the novel Shoeless Joe, written by one of her favorite authors, W.P. Kinsella.

Dressed as an old-time baseball player herself for the school's dress-up day, Bethany had gotten numerous compliments throughout the day from other faculty. She and Jack had planned to dress up as the "ghost " players from the movie while they handed out candy to trick-or-treaters at Bethany's house after sunset.

As the movie played on, she let her mind wander to her real plans for a costume that was going to be more risqué than what she had agreed to with Jack. She had spent the month researching the exact details and had finally gotten all the pieces together earlier in the week. She was certain that Jack would love it, though she fretted a bit about handing out candy in something that was decidedly more adult in nature.

When the bell signaling the end of the period finally arrived, Bethany paused the movie as the kids rushed for the door, clamoring to get away from school and begin their quest for Halloween fun and mischief. She was eager to get home as well and put her plan into action.

Jack was already there when she arrived home. He had gone to great lengths to find all the pieces to look almost identical to Ray Kinsella's father in the movie, a young John Kinsella, portrayed by the actor Dwier Brown. While the uniform had been relatively easy to replicate, finding an old-fashioned catcher's mitt, chest protector and mask proved a challenge. He had spent the summer checking out secondhand sports equipment stores and thrift shops in every town he and Bethany had visited during their sons' travel baseball season. Having finally acquired a beaten-up catcher's mitt, circa 1950, his costume was complete when he was greeted by Bethany.

"Look at you, John Kinsella," Bethany smiled as she kissed Jack and ran a hand along the soft fabric of the jersey. "Very nice," she approved, as Jack turned around like a model. She patted his butt and let her hand slide to the front, caressing his cock through the soft fabric. "No cup?" She questioned the lack of what was possibly the most important piece of equipment for any catcher.
