*Ariana's POV

After Brooklyn and I had talked for a while, we made our way back over to the event. As much as I wanted to just sit there with her, we still had to make sure that everything went well.

My nerves were much calmer now, and I almost felt like I was floating. I had assumed that that chance of anything happening between Brooklyn and I was absolutely dead in the water, but now here we were.

I kept wishing that she would have explained all of this to me sooner, but I fully understood why she didn't. I can't imagine something like that happening and having to deal with the feeling of it being your fault. It all made a lot more sense now.

Before we fully went back to work, Brooklyn grabbed on to my hand and stopped me.

"Hey," she said, pulling me close, "let's do something to celebrate tonight, the event and...this."

She nodded towards me as her hand moved down to my waist.

"How about we do that in a few days when all of this work is done?" I asked, "I think I'm going to crash tonight."

"I suppose I can wait," she grinned.

"Good," I responded.

She took another step forward and gave me a quick kiss before we went our separate ways to get a few things done.

A few days later, we had survived the wine and food festival, and the weekend was finally here. Brooklyn had stayed the night at my house, and we were both just waking up the next morning.

I was still lying in bed with my eyes closed, when her lips on mine almost startled me awake. My eyes shot open as she let out a quiet laugh against my mouth.

"Morning," she grinned.

"Morning," I responded as I returned the kiss.

I laid my head against her chest as she wrapped her arms around me, and let out a quiet sigh.

"What are we doing for the rest of the day today?" She asked me.

"Wow I didn't know this celebration was lasting all day," I teased, "but I think I'm good with just doing this."

"It is if you want it to," she said as she kissed the top of my head and leaned into me.

"Okay on second thought," I started, "I'm too hungry to lay here all day."

"I can go grab something for breakfast if you want," she laughed.

"I'll let you go get coffee," I told her, "but I'll make something."

"Deal," she said as she nodded against me.

We both reluctantly got out of bed, and I went towards the kitchen as she left to get our drinks.

I got everything out that I needed to make pancakes, and by the time Brooklyn got back, I was just about done.

"Wow," she said, "look at you being all domestic."

I turned around and rolled my eyes at her as she set my coffee down on the counter.

"It doesn't happen very often," I said, "don't get too used to it."

"Fine," she sighed, "I won't."

Once everything was done, we brought our plates and drinks out to the living room and sat down on the couch. We put everything on the coffee table and I grabbed the remote to flip the television on.
