Brooklyn's lips gently pressed against mine, hesitantly at first. It was like she was acting like we hadn't already done this, and more, already.

I leaned into the kiss as I put my hands on her waist, and it felt like she finally fully gave into it.

Her hand cupped my jaw as I grasped a handful of her shirt.

I only vaguely remembered our kiss at the bar, but hell, I was definitely going to remember this one.

Brooklyn's hand wrapped around the back of my neck and her fingers tangled in my hair. Her tongue moved across my bottom lip before sliding into my mouth and tangling with mine.

I felt the heat coursing through my veins as our bodies melded together. I pulled her hips firmly against me as her teeth tugged at my lip.

She grabbed on to my hair and gently pulled my head back, exposing the bare skin on my neck.

My eyes fluttered shut as she kissed down to my collarbone. When her lips made their way back up to my mouth, she put a hand on either side of my face.

I opened my eyes and met her gaze as she leaned in and gave me another gentle kiss.

Her thumb trailed along my jaw as we both stood there and tried to catch our breath. I let my hands fall from her waist, and I looked down at her chest, watching it rise and fall rapidly.

"Sorry," she finally mumbled, "this maybe wasn't the best place to -"

"It's fine," I cut in with a laugh before she could finish her thought, "I'm - I'm glad you did."

"You are?" She questioned.

"Yes," I nodded, "although I'm not sure why."

"That's - yeah that's fair," she said as she dropped my face from her grip.

"I didn't want to," I told her.

"Didn't want to? Like you didn't want to kiss me?" She asked.

"No, no," I shook my head, "that's not what I meant, that part I definitely did want."

A smirk tugged at the corners of her mouth as she looked down at the ground.

"Okay," she said, "then what do you mean?"

"I didn't want to be attracted to you," I admitted, "especially not as much as I currently am."

She raised her eyebrows at me, the same small grin still on her face, "oh really?"

"Don't let it go to your head," I told her as I teasingly rolled my eyes.

"Never," she responded.

"And I - I am sorry too," she continued, "I know I've been difficult, I'm just used to working with people who don't care, they don't question me."

"Thank you," I nodded, "I appreciate the apology."

"I'll try to be better," she said.

"That would be helpful," I grinned.

She rolled her eyes at me, but it didn't stop her from smiling at my comment.

"We better go," I said as I looked down at my watch, "they lock the building up soon."

She nodded in agreement as she turned around and pulled my office door open.

We walked out to the parking lot in silence, and I still wasn't sure how much this was going to help my confusion with everything. We still hadn't really talked about what was going on between us.

I guess we would get there eventually.

I was almost to my car when the sight of Owen sitting on a bench stopped me. Brooklyn glanced over at me before realizing what I was looking at.
