When a genin finished a mission, they had to write a report and submit it to their Jounin-sensei before 24 hours. The Jounin-sensei also needed to write a report and submit it to the hokage. At the very least, that's the protocol in Konoha.
Every team that finished a mission was given three days off. However, that's optional. If the team decided to take another mission, they're allowed to do so. In the case of Team 7, Kakashi decided to ask them to rest fo three days.
The plan was, after three days off, they would train for a week, after that they would take mission again.
Naruto didn't plan to spend three days off by lazing around. No. He couldn't afford to do so. Despite the seemingly godlike power of rokugan, he lacked something: the ability to cross a long distance in a blink of an eye.
And, therefore, Naruto decided to use the three days off to focus on fuinjutsu. Combining [Shadow Clone], [Body Transformation], and the power of money, Naruto managed to get a lot of fuinjutsu books and scrolls -- the ones that he couldn't fine in Jounin Library.
Although he had to sacrifice almost two hundreds thousand Ryo, the materials he got was enough to make him into a fuinjutsu master once he learnt everything. Most of the books and scrolls came from Hyuuga Clan.
Once he got all the materials needed, Naruto created ten shadow clones and asked them to learn the books and scrolls. The real Naruto, after he finished his routine training (chakra control and physical exercise), was working on converting his chakra into the other nature.
Even if one's affinity was only toward one element, it didn't mean it was impossible to learn another element. The key was chakra control. With enough chakra control, mastering all five basic elements wasn't impossible. Third Hokage was the prime example of that.
However, Naruto was aware that he couldn't possibly master the other four elements to the same level as his main element. Having an affinity toward a certain element meant that it'd be extremely easy to cast jutsu from that element.
Naruto's goal for wind element was clear: perfect control. He would not be satisfied unless he could manipulate wind to fly.
As for the other element, Naruto would be satisfied if he could at least master one S-rank jutsu of those elements. That's the goal he had to complete when it came to elemental ninjutsu. Otherwise, all the chakra in his body would be a waste.
Naruto's clones learnt fuinjutsu without sleeping. Unlike the real Naruto, they didn't need foods. They wouldn't get fatigued. After all, at the core they were just a bunch of chakra. They would only dispel if they ran out of chakra or getting hit.
...On the last day of his three days off, Naruto's clone return. Fooling the gate guards weren't difficult. He managed to enter the village without any trouble. The clone returned with contract from book publisher and money.
Naruto didn't read the contract. There was no need. He sealed it on the back of his right palm right away. The reason he didn't read the contract was obvious. As the clone dispelled itself, Naruto learnt everything about the negotiation and the contract.
Long story short, his clone managed to secure 20% royalty without cheating. The publisher would pay him the money every six months. Assuming that the publisher could sell at least 5,000 books a year for every title, he would receive at least 84,000 Ryo in that year.
"Hm, perhaps I should introduce manga to this world?"
Naruto quickly shook his head. There was no need to be greedy. He should give the chance to the other reincarnators. The moment they read his novel, if they knew about the novel, they would have some idea about what to do.
