After speaking with Joffrey about the impending battle with Stannis, you made your way back into the Red Keep in order to find Sansa. Even though you didn't think that Stannis would harm her since she was basically a prisoner after her father's execution, you couldn't say the same for his men who would more than likely find her first.
You just wanted a little piece of mind in case this was the day that you decided to die, even though a part of you knew it wasn't going to be that easy, not after all of your training.
When you finally made it to her chambers, you knocked on the door until she told you to come inside.
"Laramie," she greeted as she continued to braid little strands of her hair. "Would you mind helping me with my hair, I don't know where Shae is."
"Sure," you agreed, walking over and taking the little braid that she had managed to do. "I'm not the best at it though."
As you finished up her braid the best you could, you moved to another strand to braid, that way she could tie them together in the back.
"You're fighting in the vanguard, aren't you?" She asked as you attempted to make as tight a braid you could before tying it up with the other one at the back of her head.
"It's where I'm most needed," you spoke softly as you smoothed out the imperfections in her red hair.
"Please don't go," she turned around in her seat to look up at you. "Go with me and Shae. We're supposed to shelter in Maegor's holdfast with the Queen to stay safe."
"You know I can't do that Sansa. I belong with a sword in my hands, fighting... not hiding behind someone to fight for me. I'll do my absolute best to stay alive, but you need to prepare yourself for the possibility that we may not win this battle," you explained before taking your dagger and it's sheath off of your belt on your hip and holding it out for her to take.
"I won't know how to use it," her voice quivered a bit as she looked down at the sheathed blade.
"If its life or death, the motions of how to use it come naturally," you kneeled down as you took the blade out and handed it to her with the handle pointing her direction.
When her hesitant fingers took the handle of the blade, you watched as it fell into her palm. All she could do was look down at it as her grip got tighter and tighter around the metal.
"Stick them with the pointy end... that's what my brother used to always say," her voice was almost a whisper as you placed the sheath in her lap and stood up.
"See, you do know how to use it," you gave her a reassuring smile as she sheathed the dagger.

You left Sansa's chambers after that and took to walking around the grounds of the Red Keep and up on the wall.
As the day slowly drug on, you stayed posted on the walls of the Red Keep, looking out at Blackwater Bay as the wind died down and the waves that once crashed into the side of the rocks below, calmed.
It was strange. How nature was almost predicting the calm before the storm as fog slowly started to encase the entirety of King's Landing and the bay. An eerie silence hung over the air as many of the common folk in the city shut themselves indoors or took refuge at the Sept of Baelor. There wasn't a single boat in the bay, not even in the marina. All the fishermen and merchants decided to skip landing at Blackwater Bay that way they didn't have to deal with their boats being burned down.
The archers and trap makers that worked all day to ready the arrows and traps for the siege, were now either asleep, or down in the tavern, having what they were assuming would be their last drink with the other Lannister soldiers.
