Xavier's POV:

As I watched Meera rush into the room, all my frustration seemed to melt away. The moment she smiled and wrapped her arms around me, I felt a warmth I hadn't expected. "What happened, princess?" I asked, trying to keep my voice soft despite the chaos of the day. "Do you need anything?"

Her request hit me like a surprise. "I was wondering if you could help me get into a decent med school here in Russia," she said, her eyes wide with hope. "I still have to graduate and fulfill my dreams."

In that instant, I knew I would do whatever it took to help her.

The cold, ruthless exterior I had maintained all day slipped away as I reassured her, "Of course, princess. I'll do my best to help you get into the top medical college here." Holding her close, I felt a sense of peace that was rare for me.

As she rushed out, I could already feel the anger bubbling back to the surface. I turned to my men, ready to unleash the frustration I had bottled up. They needed to understand that mistakes like this couldn't happen again. My focus shifted back to the business at hand, barking orders in Russian to ensure everyone knew the stakes.

When Viktor and Lucian nodded and started to leave, I called them back. "And get me a bouquet of 520 fresh red roses."

The request felt strange, but I knew how much it would mean to Meera. As they left, I felt a flicker of amusement at the idea of 520 roses.

I had my reasons; it was my way of expressing what I couldn't say directly. "I love you," in a language she'd appreciate.

Watching them go, I realized how much she had changed me. Even amidst my relentless drive for control and power, there was this softer side emerging—a side that wanted to cherish her and support her dreams.

The devil might have a heart after all.

As the day grew darker, I was in my study going through files and documents when Lucian and Viktor knocked softly.

"Enter," I said in a cold tone, not looking up from my work.

"Boss, we've enrolled Meera at the Vladimir Institute of Medical Sciences," Lucian announced in a professional tone. "She can join the university the day after tomorrow."

Nodding, I finished reviewing the last file and looked up. "Good. Inform Marco that he'll be driving Meera, and Viktor, you'll be with her at all times," I instructed as I stood from my chair.

"Of course, boss," Viktor replied, his tone steady. "And here's the bouquet you asked for," he added, handing me the massive arrangement with a hint of reverence.

"Good work, Lucian and Viktor. You can both leave now," I said, my mind already on Meera's reaction to the flowers.

Once they were gone, I made my way to Meera's room, a smile creeping onto my face. "Princess," I said softly as I knocked on her door. The sound of her giggling floated through before the door swung open, revealing her in a thin black nightgown with damp hair, beaming at me.

"Here you go, princess," I said, presenting her with the bouquet. Her eyes widened as she took in the sight. "What's this, Xavier?"

"Count them," I replied with a laugh, stepping inside her room.

Her brow furrowed in concentration as she began counting aloud. "One... two... three... hundred... hundred and one... five hundred eighteen... five hundred nineteen."

"There are 519 red roses," she said, her confusion evident. I chuckled at her innocence and slowly pulled the last flower from my coat, presenting it to her. "And this is the 520th one. So you have a bouquet of 520 red roses."

As realization dawned on her, tears filled her eyes, and she rushed forward to hug me tightly. "Oh my god, this was so thoughtful of you, Xavier! I seriously loved this kind of confession."

Laughing, I pulled her closer and guided her to sit on my lap, nuzzling into the crook of her neck. "I'm glad you liked it."

Gently tilting her head upwards, I leaned down to kiss her lips.

It was soft, warm, and sweet—just like her.

As the kiss deepened, Meera held my shirt tightly, gasping softly between kisses. When we finally broke apart, I pressed my forehead against hers and said, "I still can't believe you're with me. It feels like a dream come true."

We settled onto her bed, and I reached for the hairdryer on the bedside table. "Here, get comfortable," I said as I gently dried her hair, whispering, "And about what you asked me, I've enrolled you in the Vladimir Institute of Medical Sciences. It's the top medical school in Russia."

"Really? THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, XAVIER! YOU'RE THE BEST!" she exclaimed, clapping her hands in delight.

Her reaction brought a smile to my face. "Marco will be driving you, and Viktor will be with you at all times." Without any argument, she nodded quietly, whispering, "Okay."

As we chatted, the maids entered the room quietly, serving dinner. It had been a while since we'd eaten alone together like this.

We enjoyed our meal, talking about the events of the day, but I noticed her eyes growing heavy with sleep.

Gently, I wiped her mouth and laid her down on the bed, covering her with a blanket. Removing my shirt, I crawled in behind her, holding her close. "Good night, princess," I whispered, feeling content as she settled against me.
