Olivia woke in a cold sweat. She blinked, pulling out her phone. It was midnight. She flicked her lamp on, looking down at her clothes. She was still wearing Klaus' clothes. They felt heavy on her body. She sighed, getting out of bed. Grabbing a random pair of pajamas, she made her way to the shower.
Her mind was still racing. She wanted to know what Klaus meant when he labeled her as not part of the plan. She wanted to know what he meant when he said he knew how to cure her tumor. Maybe he knew a good doctor? However, Dr. Baker made it perfectly clear that the tumor was unable to be operated on.
Her mind also went back to Klaus' promise to her grandfather. I told you; no harm would come to you or your family. What does that even mean? Olivia shut off the water and changed into her pajamas, throwing Klaus' clothes at the bottom of the dirty clothes basket. She wanted to be as far away from them as she could.
She snuck back to her room. Grabbing her great-great grandmother's journal, she settled in to read.
August 18, 1923.
It has been a while since my last entry. However, life has been so grand I forgot to write. Timothy stopped drinking... for a while. Last evening I came home to Timothy passed out on the couch. Our sweet Helena was in her crib, screaming and crying to the top of her lungs. I wrapped her in a hug and came back to the living room to examine my husband.
I deserved more. Helena deserved more. However, the thought of leaving him was more terrifying than staying. He keeps wanting to move farther west. He heard of a small, prosperous town, named Mystic Falls. Maybe the change of scenery would be good for him.
Rose Stanley.
Wow, Rose thought. Apparently, all the men in her family are pieces of shit. She heard some rustling in the living room. Who was up? She eased her way into the room. She noticed her dad sitting on the couch. He looked back, smiling.
"Hey, kid." He said, turning his head back to the T.V. "You wanna watch some T.V?"
"Sure." Olivia said, making her way to the couch.
"What's on your mind?" He asked.
Olivia covered her feet with a blanket and looked at the T.V.
"Different things." She spoke. "Why are you up so late?"
Her dad shrugged, "I have always been a bit if a night owl."
"Me too."
"But something is troubling you." He stated.
Olivia sighed, "If I am being honest, I am having a hard time getting my mind off Klaus."
"I assumed, do you want to talk about anything?"
Olivia flashed her eyes to him. She felt uncomfortable.
"Are you sure you want to hear about it?"
Her dad looked at her. "Of course I do, Olivia. Whatever is on your mind is important to me."
"I care for him." Olivia admitted, looking at the blanket. "But, I don't think I should."
"Why don't you think you should?"
"Well, Brandon doesn't seem to like him very much. He keeps implying that Klaus would hurt me."
Olivia looked back at her dad and their eyes locked.
"You can ignore your grandfather, Olivia. He is a weird and strange man sometimes."
"I heard Klaus tell him he promised no harm would come to him or his family."
"Anything else?"
Olivia bit her lip.
"He also said he may be able to find a cure for my tumor."
