Shinyu was sat at the back of the class in silence. He was simply waiting for the school day to end. He was doodling in his notebook out of boredom. Their language class was so boring. He always hated going to them.

He was happy that the bell would rung soon, since it meant that their two week break would start then. Two weeks without school would mean two weeks without seeing Dohoon though. He wasn't going anywhere, but he was fine with that.

He decided that, if Dohoon was in town, he'd have the courage to ask him to hang out with him. Or maybe, even ask him out for Valentine's day.

He had been so engrossed in his thoughts, and drawing in his notebook. That when the bell rang, although part of him was delighted, he was still slightly disappointed.

The boy hurried to pack his stuff, to still be able to talk to Dohoon. He watched the boy walk in front of his desk, to leave through the door. He looked up to make sure that it was actually him. His eyes widened and he simply dropped his things in his bag.

Although it was very uncomfortable to carry, he didn't even care. He just wanted to see and talk to Dohoon. Shinyu left the classroom and ran down the hallway. He rushed over to the gate.

The boy noticed Dohoon standing at the bench. He was about to go up to him, but suddenly was frozen with fear. He was unable to go and talk to him. So, without saying a single word he just left. He was disappointed in himself, and he kept thinking about that moment as he was walking home.

Monday, February 12th
11:30 AM

Shinyu had been staring at his phone for the past hour. He was laying on his bed, debating whether or not he should send Dohoon a message.

He had been so nervous, that even the thought worried him. He continued staring at his contact, smiling at the picture that was his profile picture. He looked stunning on it, it made Shinyu wonder how he could possibly look this good all the time.

He decided that he had enough of waiting, and finally had the courage. He took a deep breath, and exhaled sharply. "Shinyu! You can do this!" He exclaimed, as a quick yet effective pep talk.

He pressed on the call button, and heard it ringing. He bit his lower lip. With every second that was passing, his heart was beating faster and faster, louder and louder. He was starting to feel uneasy. Although it was only a couple of seconds, the time it took for Dohoon to answer felt like eons. He heard the ringing fully stop, and heard some movement.

Dohoon had picked up.

"Hey Dohoon!" He exclaimed, his voice was shaking. The younger boy had noticed how he sounded. It wasn't his regular, calm voice. He wondered why he was like this. "What's up hyung? Why did you call?" He asked him, Shinyu felt silent for a couple of seconds. He didn't know what to say yet. He had the idea, but he didn't have the formulation.

He looked at the calendar on the wall, and decided by introducing the date he would be able to pitch his idea. "Uh, so you know, Valentine's day is this Wednesday." He spoke up, Dohoon hummed and waited for him to continue. "And, I was wondering, if you'd like to go out with me. On Wednesday." He let out, he distanced the phone from his mouth for a second and he sighed one of relief. "Hmm... Sure why not? It'll be a fun time between friends." He replied, Shinyu's eyes widened. He rolled his head, and although he was about to groan, he remembered that he was on call. "Great! Then, uh, I'll come over!" His voice cracked as he said that, he then ended the call. He buried his head in his hand.

"You fucking idiot Shinyu." He complained, although it wasn't a complete failure, he still felt crestfallen. He hadn't made himself very clear, and it led Dohoon to believe that he was asking him out platonic. He tried to look at the bright side, maybe he'd be able to confess on the actual day, as they were out.

The thought of confessing right to his face was a little scary, but that way, Dohoon couldn't misunderstand him. He stared at the floor and thought for a while in silence. "At least I'm still gonna be out with him." He said out loud.
