I woke up with a jolt, accidentally hitting my head against the window. Cursing under my breath, I took in all my surroundings as good as possible, but my head still wasn't fully attentive and my body was still a bit stiff from the uncomfortable position.
"What the hell is wrong with you." I muttered and squinted my eyes at Luke, since my eyelids were too heavy for my tired mood.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." He chuckled, taking off the seatbelt for me. I blinked a few times to completely come back to reality and stretched my whole body.
"How long was I asleep?" I asked while stepping out of the car, making sure to grab the backpack as well.
"The whole ride." He smirked and locked the car once we both were out of it. "You fell asleep like instantly. Thanks for that." He ended his sentence with a sarcastic voice, making me feel an ounce of guilt.
"Sorry." I sighed and checked the time on my phone as Luke led me to the motel.
"It's alright. You missed our song though." He shrugged, making me dart my eyes to him immediately. Frowning slightly, I sneaked my way in front of him when he opened the door and walked backwards.
"Our song?" I scoffed, careful not to bump into something.
"Yeah, Lego House. That's our song now." He smiled widely, showing off his teeth, and gently grabbed my waist, pulling my body towards his.
"Oh, so we have a song now?" I smiled back, I just couldn't help it, his smile was contagious. He nodded quickly and glanced over my shoulder.
"Yeah, because every time I hear that song from now on, I'll think of you." He shrugged once again and walked forward, forcing me to walk backwards rather quickly and ungracefully.
"Now I won't be able to think of anyone else but you either." I whined and turned around once my back hit something. In front of us stood a receptionist, who was writing something on a notepad. Luke cleared his throat carefully, catching her attention.
"Oh, sorry. Hi, what can I do for you?" The lady smiled friendly at us.
"Is there any room available just for tonight?" Luke asked politely while hugging me from behind. I felt a blush creep on my face, so I looked down at the floor and waited for the heat to drain away from my cheeks.
I zoned them out for a moment, as I always did whenever Luke spoke to someone else. A part of me wanted to call Ashton just to talk about the whole day, except for the fact that I was going to spend a night with a stranger in a motel room.
"Room thirty is yours for the night." The lady smiled and tossed Luke the key. I waved to her before following him down the hallway. As we stopped in front of room thirty, he unlocked the door, holding it up for me like a gentleman.
"Why, thank you." I laughed and entered the room. He followed my lead, closed the door after us and surveyed the room.
"Well, this wasn't so shabby." He smirked at me before placing himself on the edge of the double bed. I bit on my lower lip while putting the backpack on the small bedside table.
"It's cozy." I smiled, because it really was. It was really simple as well, white walls among with a matching white floor and then navy blue sheets on the bed.
"I can still sleep on the floor." He smirked as I placed myself beside him, sending him a quick glare. Furiously shaking my head, I rummaged through the backpack before pulling out the pack of cards.
"We ought to play something since we bought this." I reminded him and pouted just the slightest with my lips.
"Ought?" He mocked my choice of word and raised his eyebrows a bit.
