"So when are you going to tell me the truth about your tattoo?" Ashton asked stubbornly while putting the bowl with strawberries on the couch carefully.
We were sitting on the floor with our backs against the couch, watching old Disney shows. It was simply one of those days where we hung out in his house and talking, barely paying any attention to the TV.
It's been around four months since I got the tattoo, which means around for months since that day, and Ashton hasn't really stopped asking about it.
"I already told you. I got it one day because I wanted to." I repeated with a shrug for about the hundredth time now, the words coming out of my mouth as if it's a line I've rehearsed for a part in a movie.
"I really don't believe that. The Elena I know wouldn't just all of sudden decide to let a person stick a needle in her skin which would permanently paint it as well."
"Ashton." I groaned irritated, twisted my body around a bit so that I'd be able to reach a strawberry. "I've always wanted a tattoo. Besides, it's not even a big one."
"I'm aware of that. It's just, where did your sudden amount of courage come from? You've never even thought about it before." He sighed while looking a bit skeptical if you ask me.
"Will you ever let this go?" I gazed at him with a severe expression, almost certain that this would be the last time I'd ask him that question.
"No." He shortly said, shaking his head. I contemplated telling him everything, and after a minute or so, I decided to give in and finally do.
"Okay, here we go. Do you remember that festival?" I asked. He remained silent for a brief moment before nodding shortly. "Well, I lied to you."
Ashton looked at me with pure shock written on his face, as if it was impossible for him to comprehend what I had just said. And with that I started to tell him everything, about Luke, the whole day and even the night. I remembered it all so vividly like it had occurred just the day before. Whenever his face turned into a frown, I slowed down, helping him process it all.
"Wait." Ashton said as I finished while holding up a finger in front of my face. "You, Elena Parthenia Stathos, chose not to attend the festival, instead you hung out with a complete stranger? You?" He finished in disbelief, but at the same time, astonishment.
"He wasn't a complete stranger." I defended as I shifted my body and seized another strawberry.
"You had just met him!" He said loudly in a high pitched voice, earning a quiet laugh from me.
"I'm alive and well, aren't I?" Raising my eyebrows at him, I felt the corner of my mouth twitch, slowly evolving into a smile.
"You got a tattoo. Where did that even come from?" He continued, making me roll my eyes.
"I've always wanted a tattoo." I pointed out, with my finger gently pressed against his chest.
"You've never had the guts before, to let someone stick a needle inside your skin, let alone print permanent color on it." He retorted and crossed his arms over his chest.
"It's just a small star, you're exaggerating. Besides, the answer to that is so simple; Luke." I shrugged at the end and pursed my lips once his name came out of my mouth. The name hadn't left my mouth for so long, it felt like someone stuck fire in my throat while I said it.
"That guy really had you all worked up, didn't he?" Ashton chuckled and ruffled my hair, earning a huff from me.
"That guy has a name, and no." I muttered, but sighed. "He was just... Interesting."
