"We're so messed up." I laughed, not really sure how else to express myself.

Luke was strutting around the sections at Target, telling awful jokes and suggesting things to do. I never really replied to Luke earlier at the beach because I wasn't sure of my feelings. Of course I like him, but he meant it in more than a friendly way.

"Let's play hide and seek!" Luke squealed like a little child and grabbed my upper arms. I flinched a bit and raised one eyebrow at him.

"Seriously? We're in a big supermarket and they close in like an hour."

"So? Come on, Stathos, it'll be fun!" He pleaded, pouting and squeezing my arms gently.

"Alright, alright!" I laughed while taking away his hands from my arms.

"Yes, okay, I'll hide and you count to fifty." He said all excited while jumping up and down. I rolled my eyes as I turned around, facing the nearest fall and started to count to fifty.

I counted fast because Luke was probably hiding somewhere already, and it was boring to stand there for too long. I pouted with my lips while walking down the section that consisted of video games, not completely sure how one could hide in this place.

"Lucas?" I sing-songed. Sometimes, I had to stand on my toes to be able to gaze over the shelves, even though he was nowhere to be seen. I shot my head up and quickly made my way over to the toys section, searched for the stuffed animals. Let's be honest, Luke may be nineteen, but he's still like a little child.

I bent my upper body over the edge of the box thing were all the stuffed animals laid in. It didn't take long for my eyes to spot his shoes on the floor either. Slowly removing a small lion, Luke's head popped up with pout on his lips and I smiled widely over the sight.

"You found me." He grinned and carefully got out from all the stuffed animals and dressed on his shoes again.

"Yeah, well, your shoes were a pretty evident hint." I laughed and picked up a stuffed penguin. "This is cute."

Luke agreed by nodding and suddenly rummaged through my bag until he picked up the Polaroid camera. It didn't surprise me when he took another picture with a silly grin on his face and wobbled it in the air.

"You just looked so adorable holding that penguin, I had to." He grinned while putting the picture in his back pocket, apparently keeping it. I sent him a sheepish smile before seizing the camera and handing him the penguin.

"Isn't it my turn to hide?" I reminded him, but he was too focused on the penguin now, holding it tightly against his chest. The second he closed his eyes with a smile, I snapped a picture of him myself and smiled broadly, put it in my bag after it had been induced and finally gained his attention.

"Oh right, yeah, I'll start counting." He blushed, put the stuffed penguin back and turned around. I laughed before making my way through everything, with no idea where to hide.

After about ten seconds, an idea popped up my mind which I fulfilled by quickly making my way over to the cashier, the one with no queue.

"Hi, sorry to bother, but do you mind if I ask you something?" I said a little bit too rushed and pulled my fingers through my hair.

"Of course." The cashier smiled and cocked her head to the side.

"So I'm here with, um... My friend and we're playing hide and seek. Am I allowed to hide under here, the counter? Like beside you?" I pursed my lips and looked at her blank expression before she cracked a smile and nodded slowly.

"Strange, but sure, why not?" She shrugged and I smiled gratefully before hurrying around the counter and sunk down to the floor beside her. "So what's your name?" She asked after a few seconds while helping a customer, not even glancing down at me.
