As the clock crept closer to midnight, I found myself spilling my feelings to my siblings on the phone. I told them how it felt strange, like maybe something special was brewing—but also worried that dressing up would make it too obvious that I suspected something. My siblings wouldn't have it, though. They kept pushing, saying, "Just find a way to change! Make up an excuse!"
Finally, I headed back to my room, pretending to take a call from Nana or Dad, and searched for a nice outfit. After rummaging around, I finally grabbed a purple dress from my suitcase and changed at exactly 11:58, just in time.
When the clock struck midnight, my family was the first to wish me, and we chatted until 12:14. Then, back in my room, I noticed something odd: Aleeza and Nirma weren't around. For a moment, I thought, Maybe there's no surprise after all...
But then—bam!—in burst Maryam, Muteeba, Alishba, and the whole gang with a full-blown surprise! Even though I had a hunch, I was still in shock. Maryam had even brought biryani they just made! We laughed, took pictures, devoured the cake, and missed the friends who couldn't make it. Time flew, and before we knew it, it was 3 a.m.
Once the celebration wound down, Maryam sent me the photos, which I shared with my family before finally crashing, knowing I had class in a few hours.
Now it's Saturday, November 2nd. I woke up at 11:30 a.m., got ready for my Tajweed class, and finished up around 1 p.m. With the rest of the afternoon free, I jumped back into my project, half-focused as I watched YouTube vlogs in the background.
Since it s Saturday , aleezas mum had to come.
