"Y/n, for goodness' sake..." Y/n's mom groaned, dressed in a robe with a steaming mug of coffee in her hand. "When have I ever taught you to eat like that? Where are your manners?"

The morning light streamed through the curtains of the kitchen window as Y/n hurriedly stuffed a waffle into her mouth.

"Sogwy mm~" Y/n sheepishly looked up, her cheeks stuffed as she managed to mumble a response that came out more like a series of muffled sounds than actual words.

She had managed to get a few more hours of sleep in last night, but with the plan to hit the slopes early with Isagi, there hadn't been much time to linger in bed.

Her mom sighed and shook her head, clicking her tongue before taking a sip of her coffee.

Ciara watched her sister from the table, a playful smirk tugging at her lips as she watched Y/n scramble to eat.

"Running late?" She teased, arching an eyebrow. "I thought you said you'd get up early..."

Y/n shot her sister a quick, half-hearted glare, swallowing a mouthful of food with difficulty. "I did get up early," she replied, her voice hoarse from her rapid chewing. "It's just that... I fell back asleep."

"Hmmm..." Ciara hummed in amusement, bringing her mug up to her mouth to take a slow sip, Y/n narrowing her eyes at her sister.

"And why aren't you dressed yet?" Y/n straightened her back, taking a sip of her juice. "Aren't you coming with us?"

Ciara's eyes averted to their mom, who seemed too engaged with her phone to eavesdrop onto their conversation. "I'm not," She replied afterwards. "I've got other plans this morning..."

"Other plans?" Y/n furrowed her eyebrows together. "Like what?"

Ciara shrugged her shoulders,  staying quiet.

Y/n tilted her head to the side in suspense, and she was about to say something again when the doorbell rang.

Her eyes widened and her sister was long forgotten as her face lit up. "Yoichi's here!" She exclaimed, stuffing the last piece of waffle into her mouth before darting toward the door, almost tripping over her own feet as she sprinted toward the hallway.

Her mom, who's attention finally seemed to be brought to the present, shook her head, chuckling softly. "Have fun!" she called after her.

Y/n reached the door, quickly swallowing the last bite before she opened it.

On her porch, in front of her door, stood Isagi. He seemed well-rested, or at least a lot more awake than she felt, and he gave her a small smile, his eyes bright and energetic despite the early morning. "Good morning..." He grinned at the sight of Y/n, clear signs of her rush evident on her face.
