After waking up from my nap, I noticed JJ was missing, but faint voices drifted from the living room, clearly trying to keep their voices down for my sake.
This time, I carefully slipped out of bed and made my way toward the living room, where I found John B and JJ deep in conversation, looking like they were up to something.
"Hey boys," I said, leaning against the doorway. "Wanna fill me in on what's going on?"
"Hey y/n, sorry I didn't wake you," JJ replied, stepping closer and planting a gentle kiss on my forehead.
"It's okay, but seriously, how are we going to find your dad, JB?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.
"Well, Neville gave us a map and all the directions and stuff. Our next move is figuring out how to get to South America," John B explained.
I strolled over to the table where they were examining the map. "What if we took a boat?" I suggested.
"That would take forever; our best bet is a plane," JJ countered.
"Okay, Mr. Smartypants, last time I checked, none of us have passports," I teased.
"We don't need passports! I know a guy who can get us there. He might just need one tiny favor," JJ said with a grin.
"Like what?" I asked, intrigued.
"We're not sure yet, but we were just about to go get the other girls and Pope and go talk to him," John B said.
"Great, let's go!" I exclaimed, heading for the front door before JJ stopped me.
"Wait, y/n are you gonna be okay," he said, looking down at my injury, his expression serious.
"I'll be fine Jayj, let's go" I shot back. He didn't need to know I was still in pain.
"Okay, fine, but promise me if you don't feel well, you'll tell me," he replied.
"I promise," I said, pressing a kiss on his lips. He kissed me back instantly, grabbing my hand as we left the chateau.
As we pulled up to the dock for Kie's party, JJ ran through the plan with John B one more time. "Get the girls, find Pope and Cleo, and we get down to South America as soon as possible."
"Guys, I think y'all are still forgetting we don't have passports," I jumped in.
"Look, don't worry about the details right now. We'll figure that shit out later," John B said. "I'll get Sarah, JJ gets Kie, and you stay on lookout."
"Lookout for what?" I snapped. "I wanna do something!"
"Keep the boat running?" JJ shrugged.
"How about you keep the boat running and I get Kie?" I shot back.
"Umm..." JJ paused. "Nope."
"Seriously, dude, let me do something," I said, crossing my arms.
"Hey, don't 'dude' me," JJ said, mimicking my voice.
"If you don't let me help, I can dude you as much as I—" I started, but John B cut me off.
"Okay, you two, no time to argue. JJ, we both know she's stubborn; just let her have this one." JJ nodded in agreement, and so did I.
"Fine," JJ sighed. "Just be careful, you know—"
"Yeah, yeah, I got shot. I need to make sure not to hurt it even more," I finished his sentence bluntly.
"Good," JJ said, walking over to me and placing a soft kiss on my forehead. "Now go before I change my mind."
So, John B went off to find Sarah while I searched for Kiara. As I scanned the area, I noticed John B already deep in conversation with Sarah, and there was Kie chatting with her parents. I approached her, trying not to interrupt their moment, but as soon as she caught my eye, she excused herself and walked over.
