The atmosphere in the club was thick with tension, and it felt like we were teetering on the edge of something dangerous. Angel was close to giving birth, and instead of celebrating the impending arrival of our child, we were dealing with a possible traitor in our midst. I leaned against the bar, watching the bikers interact, my instincts prickling with unease. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, that danger lurked just beyond the fray.

Riley approached, his expression serious. "We need to talk," he said, gesturing toward a quieter corner. I followed him, my mind racing with worry for Angel and the baby. "It's about Johnny."

"Johnny?" I echoed, my stomach sinking. He'd been a part of the gang for years. "What's going on?"

Riley spread out a series of photographs on the table. Each one showed Johnny in various settings, laughing and joking, but the tension around his mouth spoke of hidden agendas. "He's been acting strange. I've seen him meeting with people outside the club-people connected to Dante."

My blood ran cold at the mention of Dante's name. "What are you saying? You think he's working with Dante?"

"Could be. I've heard whispers that Johnny might be looking for a way to climb the ranks, and he might think aligning himself with Dante's people is the way to do it," Riley replied, his voice low and tense.

My heart raced at the thought of betrayal. "We can't let him put Angel at risk. Not now, not with her about to give birth."

"Exactly," Riley nodded. "We need to confront him, find out where his loyalties lie. If he's been leaking information, we need to stop him before it gets worse."

We devised a plan quickly. I'd confront Johnny, pretending to be angry about something he supposedly did. It would draw him out, give us a chance to see if he was really betraying us. Angel would stay close by, ready to back me up, though I didn't like the idea of her being involved in this tension-filled encounter.

That evening, the club was alive with chatter and laughter, a stark contrast to the dread coiling in my stomach. I spotted Johnny swaggering through the room, that familiar grin on his face, and my jaw tightened.

"Here we go," I muttered to Riley as we moved toward the bar.

"What's got your leather in a twist, Alex?" Johnny taunted, leaning against the bar like he owned the place.

I stepped closer, my voice low and threatening. "Cut the crap, Johnny. We need to talk."

His smirk faltered for a split second, and I could see the calculation in his eyes. "About what? You're looking a bit tense, my friend."

"About your loyalty," I said, keeping my tone steady. "You've been meeting with people you shouldn't be. What's really going on?"

He feigned innocence, but I could see the nervousness creeping in. "You're just being paranoid," he replied, but there was a crack in his facade.

"Paranoid? I've seen you slipping away. You think we wouldn't notice?" I pressed, trying to gauge his reaction.

"I'm loyal to the club," he said, but the words sounded hollow, even to him.

"Loyalty doesn't involve making deals with our enemies," I shot back, feeling the heat of anger bubbling beneath my skin.

"Enemies? Dante's gone. There's a vacuum now," Johnny spat, desperation creeping into his voice. "You have no idea what's going on in the real world outside your little bubble."

"Maybe I should have a better look then," Angel interjected, stepping into the fray. Her presence grounded me, reminding me of what we were fighting for. "You're the one who's been acting strange, Johnny. Meeting with people behind our backs. If you're really loyal, why do you need to talk to anyone else?"

His eyes darted around the bar, the pressure of the moment suffocating him. "You don't understand what's at stake here," he hissed, frustration boiling over.

"What I understand is that we trusted you," I said, my grip tightening. "And you've betrayed that trust. You think we wouldn't notice?"

"Fine!" Johnny snapped, his bravado slipping further. "I was working with Dante! He promised me the world if I helped him get rid of you two. I didn't think he'd be killed, but now..." He trailed off, panic flashing in his eyes.

The room fell silent, the gravity of his admission hanging heavily in the air. I could feel the other bikers shifting, tension rippling through the crowd. "What now, Johnny?" I pressed, my anger morphing into a cold determination. "Are you going to run back to whatever hole you crawled out of, or are you going to own up to your betrayal?"

"I thought I could keep you out of it, just make a little money on the side. But this isn't how I wanted it to go down!" he stammered, clearly realizing he was out of options.

"Get out before I change my mind," I growled, the threat lingering in the air.

He hesitated, a mix of fear and bravado battling within him. "You can't just throw me away like this," he hissed, but I could see the resolve weakening.

"Watch me," I replied, my voice low and dangerous.

As he turned to leave, I felt a sense of triumph wash over me. We'd confronted the traitor before he could do any real damage. But as the door slammed behind him, I couldn't shake the feeling that this wouldn't be the last we'd see of Johnny.

With Angel's impending birth weighing heavily on my mind, I turned to her, needing to reassure myself that she was okay. "Are you alright?"

She nodded, but I could see the worry etched on her face. "I'm fine. Just a bit stressed with everything going on."

I pulled her closer, wrapping my arms around her. "I'll make sure you and the baby are safe. Nothing else matters right now."

As we stood together, I felt a flicker of hope despite the chaos surrounding us. We would get through this together. I wouldn't let anyone hurt her or our child. Not Johnny, not Dante, and not anyone else who threatened our future.

But as the night wore on, I knew this battle was far from over. The shadows of betrayal lingered, and I couldn't shake the feeling that there were more surprises waiting just around the corner. I had to stay vigilant-for Angel, for our baby, and for the life we were building together
