The day of their wedding was nothing short of perfect. It was a small, intimate ceremony, just as they had both wanted—simple and meaningful, with only their closest friends and family in attendance.

The venue was a lush, secluded garden outside the city, filled with blooming flowers and the soft hum of nature. Tim stood at the altar, looking more relaxed than Lucy had ever seen him. Dressed in a sharp suit, he cut an imposing figure, but his eyes softened as soon as they met hers.

As Lucy walked down the aisle, her heart raced—not out of fear, but because of the overwhelming emotion of the day.

She wore a flowing white gown, simple and elegant, with her hair pinned back loosely, a few curls framing her face. The sun filtered through the trees, casting a golden glow on everything around her.

Tim's expression was unreadable for a moment, but then his lips parted in the faintest of smiles, his eyes glistening with emotion.

It was rare to see him like this—unguarded, vulnerable. And Lucy couldn't help but fall even more in love with him in that moment.

Standing before him, hand in hand, the world around them seemed to fade away. The officiant spoke, but Lucy barely heard the words. All she could focus on was Tim, the way his thumb gently brushed over her knuckles, grounding her, comforting her.

"I've never been good at this kind of thing," Tim began when it was time for his vows, his voice thick with emotion.

"But I've spent my whole life trying to be tough, to keep my walls up. And then you came along, and suddenly I wasn't so sure about that anymore. You made me believe in something I thought I'd lost a long time ago—hope. I promise you, Lucy, I will protect you, love you, and be by your side for the rest of my life."

Lucy felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes, her heart swelling at his words. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself before speaking her own vows.

"Tim, you've always been my rock. You've challenged me, supported me, and most importantly, you've loved me for who I am. I promise to love you, to stand by you, and to build a life with you that's full of love, laughter, and everything in between. I'm all in. Forever."

They exchanged rings, their hands trembling slightly as they did. And when the officiant finally pronounced them husband and wife, Lucy felt an overwhelming sense of joy as Tim leaned in and kissed her.

The cheers of their friends and family faded into the background, leaving only the feeling of Tim's lips on hers, the warmth of his hand on her back. In that moment, everything felt perfect.

But even as the joy of the day enveloped her, that small, unsettling feeling flickered in the back of Lucy's mind again.

It was faint, almost imperceptible, but it was there—a shadow lurking beneath the happiness.

She brushed it aside, telling herself it was just wedding nerves. After all, she had everything she ever wanted now. What could possibly be wrong?
