I was kind of impressed that the remaining time of our date went by in a flash. Everyone joked around and no one mentioned my incident with Max. Everything was going well I was finally able to put that kiss behind me and move on. Of course, that wasn't possible because Tate can't keep his mouth shut and annoy me. He was the one who finally decided that it's time to ruin my night and talk about what happened inside.
We were standing outside the restaurant and I was waiting for Charlotte. She was saying goodbye to Peter. You can imagine how that went on. Obviously slobber fest! Tate was looking at me like waiting for something. If he thought that I was going to kiss him too then no fucking way. I had my limit tonight and felt like shit already. I even wasn't mentally ready yet to listen to Chars lecture about this night. I sighed and looked at Tate.
"What?" My question came out a little bit sharp, but I didn't care. He was staring at me for about five minutes and my patience was running out. "What do you want?" I asked when he didn't answer me and kept staring. The only reaction I got from him was his signature - raised eyebrow. This was a game to him! Like it always was...
"What do you mean? I want nothing." His voice was so sweet and innocent. I looked away annoyed about his answer and I could feel him smiling. He was totally enjoying this. It's like the more annoyed I am the more he feels happy.
I was waiting for a rude comment or anything, but he just stared at me. When I got more annoyed he looked even more amused.
"Do you think this is funny?" I asked and glared at him. I wanted to burn a hole in his face with my stare and usually people felt somewhat uncomfortable when I did this, but he didn't even wince.
"Well yes. Yes, I do think this is funny." He gave me his most charming smiled and I was about to snap at him when he touched my cheek oh so gentle.
"Why are you so moody and petulant tonight?" He asked and looked kind of bothered by my attitude. Somehow he was right. I was on pins and needles since I saw him tonight in the restaurant in his smoking hot suit.
"I... Well, I'm not uptight!" He smiled obviously laughing on the inside at my answer. "It's not your business even if I am." I was irked and wanted to go home, but Charlotte from the looks wasn't in a hurry. Her tongue was deep in Peters' throat and his hands were put under her crop top. I guess he was touching her boobs. Wow, cool! What a great place to do it! This will be a while...
"Jesus, take a chill pill, Jenn!" Tate said and pushed me friendly. "I was just trying to be nice. After tonight, you should thank me that I kept our dirty secret." He winked at me and flashed his smile.
"What the hell? I should be thankful? I don't want your pity! So just back off!" I yelled and pushed him away. Tate's face went pale and he looked stunned that I pushed him. I always wasn't that aggressive
At least this got Peters and Chars attention. They both stopped making out and looked at me and Tate.
"What has got into you tonight Jennifer?" Peter asked and took his hands out of Chars shirt and put them in pockets.
Nice! Now Peter thinks I'm not only crazy, but I like to cause drama. I was on the edge of crying and just stood there. Deep down I knew that I was in the wrong, but I wasn't going to admit it or apologize to Tate for what I did. He never did so why should I?
"We should probably go," Charlotte said and kissed Peter goodbye and then looked at Tate. "I'm really sorry about tonight." She was the one apologizing for my mistakes! I thought that she was on my side! Then she hugged him. Oh, now they all are such good friends and I am the black sheep. Okay, fine!
When we finally got into the car Charlotte just looked at me. I was waiting scolding or yelling, but there was nothing. You may think that I got off the hook with no problem but no. Char had that one look which was full of disappointment and it was worse then her yelling. She just sat there and after awhile she started the car and said nothing. I was feeling worse and worse with every passing minute. I just stared out of the window blankly and wanted this night to end.
