Chi!
Chi is the life force that every human possess, no matter how young, or old. The whole universe, is made up of chi. This ideology, was first established in China, and other humans refer to it, as Chinese cosmology. However, after some time, this ideology was adopted into neighbouring countries like Japan and India, and it was given its new name as qi. Normally spelt as ki.
The existence of ki, is what brings the phenomenal world into being. Inanimate matter, the sky, emotions and ideas, heavenly bodies, and all the things we see will not exist without ki.
Ki lives in every Human, and that is what enables us to exist. Naturally, our ki is consumed gradually. This is what causes our inevitable aging, and death. However, ki can be harnessed, and manipulated.
Only a few Humans could be able to manipulate this ki. In the eyes of other Humans, these Humans seemed to possess extraordinary abilities. These extraordinary beings, are those who came together, to form what we know today, as the Energy clan.
Taiji
The true origin of ki, is taichi, now modified, as taiji. Taiji, is caused by the unity of 'Yin and yang!' Yin and yang is the philosophical concept that describes opposite, but interconnected forces. According to Chinese cosmology, the universe created itself out of chaos, organised into the cycles of Yin and yang, and formed into matter. The symbol that represents the unity of Yin and yang is called, Taijitu.
Yin- It mainly describes the negative components of the universe. Feminin, darkness, passivity, receptivity, sensivity, absorption, and so on are the characteristics of Yin.
Yang- It mainly describes the positive components of the universe. Activeness, brightness, humility, righteousness, and so on are the characteristics of Yang.
Around the 17th century, the words Yin and yang, were replaced with the words Black ki, and White ki. Black ki being Yin, and White ki being yang.
Yin and yang existed on the principle that states that without evil, there cannot be good. Without Yin, there cannot be yang.
Ki can be used in so many ways, in so many forms. Therefore, these forms of using ki were called ki techniques. All ki techniques were derived from Taiji. Any ki manipulator, who understands the true concept of Yin and yang, will have unlimited power.
These characteristics of Yin and yang, are what made White and Black ki users, one of the most powerful Terminators in history. In the 19th century, it was established that only a descendant of Shida, could defeat a Black or White ki user.
Whoever could unlock the full potential of White or Black ki, would be the most powerful ki manipulator to ever live. Throughout history, the only people said to have managed that, were Master Reingyoku, and Master Takumi.
The concept of ki, is manifested all the time, in our daily lives.
