(In Texas)
Eddie was packing the last few things from his house and moved them in his truck.
"I think it would be better if Chris stays with us." Helena, his mother said to him walking out of the house behind him, trying to persuade Eddie to leave Chris with them.
"Your mother is right." Ramon, his father said agreeing with her.
"We already went through this and I'm not changing my mind. Anyways Chris is my son, no one know what's better for him than me, and I think that we need a new life from here."
"He already have a life here." Roman shouted at him.
"Well we are gonna build a new one. A new start, we both need it. So either you're gonna help me pack my things or move out of my way."
They tried to tell him something else, but he cut them out and went back in the house to bring the last 2 bags.
He buckles up Chris in his seat and left to go LA.
Chris was very excited that he is gonna start a new life in the city, that made Eddie surprised.
They made few stops here and there, and also stoped to sleep in a motel for the night.
The next morning they went to eat breakfast at the restaurant of the motel. The food was surprisingly good. Chris took his favourite, pancakes and Eddie took bacon and eggs.
They went back to the road to continue there last part of the journey.
Chris was in aw when they arrived at the city and saw all the tall buildings around him.
"We are gonna live here, dad?"
"Yes buddy, you like it?"
"I love it" Chris beamed in the back seat as he turned his face again to the window to see what's out there.
Eddie was glad that he's son didn't hate this place. He also loved here and always dreamed to come live in the city and not it was becoming true.
They arive at the house. Which one was 1 level hous as Chris have cerebral palsy and can't walk well. So Eddie thought it would be better if everois in on one floor.
They went in the house, both fell in love with it the second they stepped in. Although it was small, it was cozy and welcoming also if it was empty which will not last long that way.
Eddie started unpacking some stuff and arrange some stuff. After a while he was so tired to cook so he ordered pizza for both of them.
They both sat on the sofa eating the pizza and watching what was on the t.v.
It was getting late, so Eddie told Chris that he should head to bed. He tucked him in the bed and read him a story. When Chris fell asleep, he kiss his head and went to his room to get his sleep.
At first he couldn't sleep, but after few minutes he doze of to sleep.
Eddie spent the whole week arranging and unpacking stuff in his new house. While also doing training for firefighting and searching good schools for Chris.
