As Wei Wuxian's wounds began to heal, a sense of relief washed over him so the Lan healer at the hospital finally declared him fit to leave, granting him the freedom he had longed for.

Wei Wuxian was excited to move to the guesthouse at Cloud Recesses, a place that promised tranquility and a fresh start.

Lan Wangji had meticulously chosen a beautiful guesthouse for Wei Wuxian, a house complete with a charming garden and surrounded by lush mountains which felt like a slice of heaven.

Yet, beneath this idyllic surface lay a web of complications when Lan Wangji's impending marriage to Ren Yu loomed like a dark cloud over his head.

The marriage news had spread throughout their Lan sect, leading to constant scrutiny of his interactions, especially with aphas like Wei Wuxian.

This meant Lan Wangji had to be careful, often visiting Wei Wuxian under the pretense of practicing his guqin, always wary of being followed by Lan disciples.

Despite the constraints, the bond between Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian blossomed quietly.

They both began to enjoy each other's company, their playful banter evolving into something deeper.

Wei Wuxian is blissfully unaware of Lan Wangji's engagement, found joy in their secret moments, as laughter and shared glances filled the air between them.

One sunny afternoon, Lan Wangji decided to surprise Wei Wuxian, after two days of culinary lessons, he arrived at the guesthouse, proudly carrying dishes of glass noodles and chili tofu Wei Wuxian's favorites.

Wei Wuxian exclaimed, eyes wide with delight as he took a bite, "Did you really cook this for me."

The flavors danced on his palate, a stark contrast to the bland, flavorless meals served at the sect.

Wei Wuxian exclaimed happily, "This is amazing. I can't believe you actually cooked for me."

Lan Wangji replied, a shy smile creeping onto his lips, "I wanted to make something special for you."

After the delicious meal, they settled down for a game of chess, their competitive spirits igniting playful tension.

The stakes were high, the loser would have to kiss the winner then with each move, laughter filled the room, but Lan Wangji's confidence soon wavered as he found himself losing spectacularly.

Wei Wuxian teased, grinning broadly, "Looks like you'll have to come sit in my lap now and kiss me."

Lan Wangji's cheeks flushed at the suggestion, but he complied, awkwardly perching himself in Wei Wuxian's lap.

With a nervous laugh, Wei Wuxian leaned in closer, "Now, let's see that kiss."

Lan Wangji leaned down, feeling the heat of embarrassment wash over him as he pressed his lips against Wei Wuxian's, their connection electrifying.

Just as Wei Wuxian's hand brushed against Lan Wangji's clothing, he felt a rush of heat, and instinctively.

Lan Wangji grabbed his wrist, stopping him, he said, panic lacing his voice, "Wait."

Wei Wuxian asked, confused, a hind of vulnerability in his voice, "What's wrong? Are you not interested in taking this further?"

Lan Wangji's heart raced, and he swallowed hard while talking as his voice trembling, "I can't, I'm engaged to Ren Yu."
