(Clarification: if you feel like the story is jumping too fast, it's because the canon story fills in the rest. I'll still try my best to pinpoint where we are in the books but let me know if you don't get it.♡)
DAMON
When I woke up the room was silent, and a little eerie not going to lie. I noticed that the armchair next to the bed was empty, the little blanket Lily was using to cover herself earlier, messily draping on the arm rest, and her jacket, which was actually mine, also placed on the backrest of it.
“Lily?” I called, as I looked around the room, wondering if she had gotten to grab more food, or maybe she was in the bathroom. I noticed the brown bag on the tray at the end of the bed, and immediately opened it and fished out one of Marina’s piroshki. I munched on it, as I called for Lily again. “Hey, puppy? Are you in the bathroom?” I called out as I removed my blankets and swung my legs to the side of the bed. I unlatched myself from all those goddamn tubes attached to the monitor, ripping off the IV from my arm, as blood dripped onto the floor.
“Fuck…” I whined a bit, as I walked to the chair where Nik left my clean clothes. I dressed up, grunting as I tried to keep my movements slow. I walked to the bathroom and it was dark and empty. What the fuck? Where was Lily?
I dragged my feet to the armchair, and I noticed the Reese’s cups of before on the smaller table meaning she didn’t finish them. So she must have gone to buy something else. I furrowed my brows and grabbed the bomber jacket, checking her pockets, and her wallet and phone accidentally fell onto the floor. Goddammit. Thankfully the phone didn’t break. I crouched to pick them up and noticed something glimmering under the spotlights of the bedroom. My eyes narrowed on it, Lily’s earring, lying on the floor? It was a small gold hoop, she always wore them. I immediately found it suspicious. I got closer to pick it up, worry and anxiety quickly rising to my fucking mind, and then I saw them. Two black marks on the tiled floor. As if a black rubber scraped on it, creating a sort of curve. Her boots, it was like she was leaving me a trace. She was…dragged…Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!
I quickly stepped out of my bedroom, the hallway was dark except for a small light at the nurse's desk, the doors were closed and there was no one around. Something felt too off. I silently walked around, grabbing a gauze from a cart to stop the small bleeding of my IV site. No, no, this wasn’t good. I walked back, towards my room, and passed it, stomping towards the elevator when someone shoved me into the wall, a hand over my mouth. “What the fuck?!” I whisper-yelled after realizing it was Rika and Will. The blonde explained to me that someone tried to kidnap Alex at the dojo but she was able to run away mentioning one of them was Miles Anderson, but as she trailed off I knew something was wrong.
“I can’t find Michael and…” “My father got Lily.” I finished off for her. The earring, and the tracks on the floor left by her dragging her boots. She did it on purpose, to warn me. God, she was a smart one. All those mystery and action books did her good.
But now I was worried as shit, because I didn’t want Lily around my father. Will wanted me to stay here, due to my injury but not even in his dreams I was going to stay still and sit my ass in bed when I knew my father had Lily.
“What’s our plan?” I told Rika and she looked at me, cocking her eyebrow. “I don’t have one, that’s your domain.”
I scoffed, oh, so now she was recognizing I was a good player huh? I was usually good, but not now, I couldn’t think straight, not when I was injured, hungry and distracted thinking about all the things my father could do to Lily. And I knew for a fact that idiot would have gotten herself killed with that attitude of hers.
“Yes, Damon, think about everything your father could do to her. He will keep her as an assurance against our plans, they could be alone right now, he could be touching her…”
