LILY
I walked through the busy streets of Meridian City, holding the strap of my bag which crossed over my chest. I had moved here almost 4 months ago, apparently the library here in the city needed some help so I got basically transferred. The main librarian helped me find this super cute apartment, the rent wasn't too much which was suspicious to me almost immediately. It was fully renovated, the landlord said the previous owner had some work done but then decided to rent the apartment instead. The bills were also the same as the other apartments despite being more luxurious. It was weird. Too weird. Everything was going too easy, too quickly. At the library, after a week I met this guy, tall, handsome, blonde, funny and a book lover. The way he talked about books though was so suspicious as well, it felt constructed. Everything about the last 4 months seemed constructed.
As I was lost in my thoughts a weird feeling creeped on my shoulders, I stopped in my tracks, as people kept walking around me on the sidewalk. I looked back, my eyes scanning my surroundings. I didn't know what I was looking for, but I was searching for something. The faces and lights, and the buildings everything became blurred as my eyes searched for a mop of jet black hair, and a pair of piercing eyes. I could feel him, he was around. My skin buzzed under my clothes, as the scent of his cigarette filled the air.
"Damon..." I whispered under my breath. His voice was fading away from my mind, but my body still remembered his touch. My lips craved more of his.
It's already been one year since he ran away from Thunder Bay. He had sided with Trevor Crist and kidnapped Rika. I wasn't sure about what happened on the yacht, the result was Trevor dying and Damon fleeting. I didn't really meet the Horsemen during these months, I knew they were in Meridian City as well, and I wondered if they knew something. Was this the reason I was here? Because I was sure they had something to do with my transfer and my apartment and those people who started to befriend me randomly. Was Damon hiding somewhere in the city?I reached the lobby of Delcour, my eyes rounding as I took in all the detail of the interior design. Jesus Christ, not even 50 years of working at the library could make me able to afford a place like this.
"Hello, I'm here to see Michael Crist." I said, as the receptionist slowly looked up at me. Her green eyes scanning my figure from head to toe, yeah okay I was completely out of place, let's move on."Your name?" She asked me, pushing back her red curls, showing off her cleavage in her way too tight dark red dress. Her round breasts pushed up and almost spilling out. Damn. Those were big. Lucky her.
"Lily Davis." I said, showing my ID, and she looked at it and then at me. She sighed in boredom and picked up the phone, pressing a button on the display."Yes, Mr. Crist, it's Jessica. Miss Davis...Lucy, oh, Lily I meant, is here. Should I send her up?" She talked on the phone with Michael and I had to hold back from rolling my eyes when she messed up my name. After some seconds, she hung up and showed me the elevator. A private one, different from the rest because of course Michael lived in the penthouse at the top floor. I got inside and the elevator moved up, I sighed, running a hand through my hair and looking at my appearance in the mirror. My messy hair, my simple second hand clothes which hung loose on my body. Yes, I was completely out of place.
The doors opened up on the penthouse, and I walked in, peeking from the corner.
"Hello? Michael? Kai? Will?"
I said, walking hesitantly in the big open space, passing the foyer, car keys and a money pin resting on a small marble plate on a drawer. Jesus, those were at least 500 dollars...I hated the rich.
I walked inside and then looked around, reaching the other side of the penthouse, another building could be seen by the wall of windows of the hallway. I looked at the paintings, they were beautiful.
