(Clarification: if you feel like the story is jumping too fast, it's because the canon story fills in the rest. I'll still try my best to pinpoint where we are in the books but let me know if you don't get it.♡)

LILY

“Just so you know, we can walk by ourselves, Anderson…” I grunted as this fucker held me by the back of my hair, pushing me on the pavement of the driveway and towards some black SUVs. Gabriel was moving me and Michael, probably sniffling Damon around and knowing he was coming for us.

My plan had been working for now, Gabriel didn’t touch me, which was great but I wasn’t safe yet, I didn’t trust him nor his men.

“Shut up, bitch, you’re seriously the worst hostage ever.” Miles bit out and I rolled my eyes, as I watched Michael’s back only covered by his white buttons up. His brown hair, usually styled well enough, was now disheveled and I could see goosebumps on his neck. He had given me his blazer but unfortunately it was doing little to protect me from the cold of the night. He trashed his body, growling at the men pushing us, and with a swift move he was able to break free, and charged at one of the guys, throwing him on the ground. I gasped, as reinforcements came immediately and one of them hit the back of Michael’s head with a baton, making him fall on his knees.

“Hey! Leave him alone!” I yelled as I rushed to him, and stood between his crouched form and the guy who hit him. The man smirked and spoke to Michael, his accent thick.

“You better behave, Crist. Or we’re punishing her instead. You get me right?” The man said, and I bristled at his words. Yeah, I got it too. Goddammit.

“Fuck you, asshole.” Michael spat at his feet, but didn’t show any type of hostility, as he rose with a pained moan. I tried to help him up, with my shoulder since my hands were tied behind my back and looked up at him. “Are you okay?” I asked him, worried and he nodded, with a clenched jaw. “Damon is coming, I know he is, so…let’s try to cooperate so they won’t hurt us…” I continued and walked by his side, following Gabriel’s man.

“Yeah, I hope they hurry the fuck up because I don’t like the way they’re looking at you…You’re still in danger.” Michael said, his hazel eyes darkening as he looked around us and I had to agree. Maybe Gabriel wouldn’t have killed me, but that didn’t mean I was going to come out of this completely unharmed.

Gabriel’s man sat us in the back of a SUV, Michael and I were pressed against each other and I was trying hard to loosen up the zip tie, but it was impossible. Fuck. I noticed they were taking us towards the village instead of Meridian City, and I looked at Michael, he was confused as I was. We entered the village’s center and the car stopped at a redlight and then, I heard tires screeching on the asphalt, Michael’s old G-Class blocking our car from the back and Will’s SUV blocking us from the front. Damon.

I heard Miles and the others curse, as I watched Damon jump out of the SUV, his black mask and hoodie on and his shoulders tense, his movements threatening. Yes, they fucked up with the wrong man.

I covered my face as Damon and Will broke the car’s windows, they unlocked the doors and Damon took care of the guys who quickly poured out of the car, his bat swinging and hitting their back. Rika and Will got to me and Michael, cutting open the zip tie and we bolted out. Michael used his legs to kick one of the guys in the face, before he dragged me out as well. He took Rika and climbed on the G-Class, while Will grabbed my hand and we quickly slipped into his SUV. “Damon! Let’s go!” I yelled, as he told Michael and Rika to meet us back at the house and then I watched him calling Crane, ordering to go to St. Killian’s and bring some men there.

He then jumped in the driver’s seat, while I settled into Will’s lap, as he held me still. Damon pushed his foot on the gas and we skidded on the pavement of the street, fleeting away.
