CHAPTER 13: And now what?

Once the problem with Team Rocket had been solved, Ash, Iris and Cilan went to Vertress City, where the Unova League would be made. The three weren't the only ones, people that they had met were going to participate as well, and everyone would make their maximum effort to win the most important competition in the Unova region.

Ash had luck at the beginning during the tourney, he had beaten trainers that were superior to him. The young man with hat had passed the test to advancing to the finals. In one moment of the competition, Ash had to face against Cameron, a boy that he met while the three trainers lived in Cynthia's vacation home for a while. It would be a very difficult match for Ash, because Cameron had a secret weapon for the battle, he had a very powerful Pokémon in his arsenal, so, for Ash, it was more complicated to face that Pokémon. The moment of truth arrived when Ash and Cameron had only one Pokémon available. The battle was very intense, and at the end, sadly, Ash lost against Cameron.

After the defeat in the Unova League, Ash got with a bitter taste in his mouth, however, he wanted to be optimist, maybe in the next competition that could happen he would have more luck. Even though he had lost, his spirit of adventure was still intact, so he continued traveling with Iris and Cilan. This time they would do the way back to Professor Juniper's laboratory.

In middle of the way, the three trainers took advantage to rest a moment and take their Pokémon out so they had free time. Oshawott was looking for Snivy, he had noticed lately that she wasn't in a good mood after participating in the Unova League. Something happened to his teammate. He had to look for her. The Sea Otter Pokémon inquired for a while in the forest in search for the grass snake, he watched everywhere to find her. After some minutes, he was able to see where Snivy was. Oshawott was just looking at her back, and she had her head a bit down. He had to talk with the grass-type to know what happened to her. After coming closer, the Sea Otter Pokémon asked to her:

"Snivy?"

"Oh, hi, Oshawott..." she answered without much encouragement.

"Hi to you too."

There was a moment of silence until Oshawott asked a question:

"Umm... Snivy, are you okay?"

"Why do you ask that?"

"I've noticed that you've been a little downcast lately after participating the Unova League."

"Yes... I am..."

"What's wrong with you?"

After giving a heavy sigh, she answered:

"Well... it's mainly because Ash's defeat that Ash had in the Unova League."

"Are you still sore by that?"

"Yes, I still remember when I lost against Cameron's Lucario. It was... it was another humiliating defeat for me."

"Humiliating?"

"Yes, in the beginning I had to try to beat that boy's Riolu. That Pokémon was more agile that what I thought, so I made my maximum effort to defeat it, but... sadly, that Riolu evolved into Lucario in middle of the battle." getting angry, "Of all the possibilities that I thought that could happen in the competition, I got that one for me and only for me, the one that would prejudice me completely. How the hell would I beat a Pokémon that evolved in middle of the battle? It had become way stronger than me in just one blink of an eye, making my maximum effort wouldn't help me in anything to beat that darn Lucario. Did the superior beings really put me that obstacle just for me to be humiliated once again?! THAT IS VERY UNFAIR!!!" giving a sigh, "If only Ash had ordered me to use Attract on Cameron's Pokémon, he could have won. There would have a lot of probabilities that that Pokémon was male and be in the infatuated condition, so for me to beat it easily; but no, the superior beings didn't want for that to happen, just for Cameron to win against Ash at least once, and he continued reach his dream to be a Pokémon Master and those stuff. WHAT THEY DID WASN'T FUNNY AT ALL FOR ME AND THEY KNOW IT!!!
