"Aadhriti, don't run! Please, listen to me just once!" Ishan's voice cracked as he called out, desperation lacing every word. The busy road around them roared with the chaos of city life-honking horns, vendors shouting, the hurried footsteps of passersby. But to Ishan, it was all a muted blur. The only thing that mattered was the girl running ahead of him, slipping further out of his reach with every step.

"Aadhriti, you'll hurt yourself!" he shouted, the panic sharpening his tone. His chest heaved as he forced himself to keep up, weaving through the crowd that seemed determined to slow him down. His pulse thundered in his ears, matching the rhythm of his pounding feet.

Aadhriti ran as if the world behind her was crumbling. Tears streamed down her cheeks, warm and relentless, leaving trails of anguish that burned against her skin. She swiped at them with the back of her hand, her vision blurring as the weight of everything she was running from bore down on her. The ache in her chest was suffocating, each breath a battle as her heart raced with a mixture of fear, pain, and defiance.

"Please, Aadhriti, listen!" Ishan's voice cracked again, strained from the relentless chase and the emotions surging inside him. The look in her eyes when she had turned to flee haunted him-hurt, betrayal, and something deeper that he couldn't yet name. It twisted in his gut, spurring him forward even as exhaustion clawed at his limbs.

The distance between them remained, agonizingly steady.

Ishan's chest felt like it was going to explode, but he wouldn't stop. He couldn't. The thought of losing her in this moment-without saying what he needed to say, without making her understand-was unbearable. He had let her slip away once before, swallowed by misunderstandings and silence. Not this time. Not when everything he felt was spilling out in every hoarse shout of her name.

"Aadhriti, please!" His voice was hoarse, breaking as he reached out, fingers just brushing the air where her hand had been a moment before. The desperation in his touch, in his words, was raw and unfiltered, the culmination of years of regret and long.

Aadhriti's lungs burned, each breath like shards of glass slicing through her chest. The cacophony of the street seemed to drown in the roaring of her heartbeat.

All of a sudden, the sky opened up, and a torrent of rain came crashing down, drumming against the pavement with a deafening roar. The downpour was sudden and relentless, soaking everything in seconds, as if the heavens themselves were mirroring the turmoil raging within Aadhriti's heart. The world around her turned to a blur, the sharp edges of neon signs smudging into streaks of light that danced in the puddles collecting at her feet.
