chapter 5~

"i'm going to find her. settle this" Charles said

"well looks like your coming with us Logan." Lexi said as she stood up

"oh joy." he said sarcastically

Charles entered the room where he keeps Cerebro and he put it on. but when he put it on the green sludgy liquid that Mystique put in there earlier started to effect Charles.

he took off Cerebro and slouched over, in pain before falling out of his wheelchair completely, unconscious.

all the X-Men were in the med room watching Charles and Logan, was standing close to Scott.

"i'm sorry." he said as he walked away.

the rest of the team stayed with Charles.

meanwhile Jean was seeing what was wrong with Cerebro and she found the green sludgy stuff but it started to disperse, and things started to work again.

"Lexi can i have a moment alone with Charles?" Scott asked

"sure." she agreed and walked out of the room.

"you can hear me can't you?"

while Scott was talking Jean had an idea, what if she used Cerebro?

"you've taught me everything in my life that was ever worth knowing. and if anything happens, well, i'll take care of them." Scott said

Jean was in in the room where Cerebro was and she was putting it on.

Lexi was leaning against the wall waiting for Scott when she noticed Jean.

"Jean?" Lexi said and Scott turned his head in that direction.

"Jean! no!" Scott and Lexi start running to her put the doors close before they get a chance too. Jean fell to her knees and the door opened again and Scott and Lexi ran in.

"Jean, are you okay?" Lexi said with her hand on her shoulder.

"Jean." Scott said grabbing her face

"answer me. please." Scott asked putting his forehead to hers.

"i know where Magneto is going." Jean says he voice weak.

Lexi crouched down still having her hand on Jeans shoulder, even in this moment comforting her, something she's done for a long time, she feels like a third wheel, and outsider of the bubble that Scott and Jean had created over the years.

as a boat approached Sabertooth came up to the person waving at the captain and killed him. the people on the boat looked around and realized one of their crew members was dead. one of their crew member was actually Mystique.

there was what looked like a meeting or a celebration of some kind happening with government officials. a helicopter flew around the area as Magnetos crew took out more people.

on the boat itself, Magneto was harboring the machine he made, but also Rouge.

she was handcuffed to a handle of some kind and Magneto entered the room.

"magnificent, isn't she?" he said admiring the statute of Liberty.

"i've seen it." Rouge said

"i first saw her in 1949. america was gonna be the land of tolerance...of peace." Magneto says

Rouge looked around and saw a dead crew member slightly fearing for her life.
