After breakfast, Jeongin pressed a lingering kiss to Seungmin's temple. "I'll go grab stuff for the picnic," he murmured against Seungmin's skin. "Try not to miss me too much, princess." With one last smirk, he headed out, leaving Seungmin alone in his room.
Seungmin found himself standing in front of Jeongin's closet, the doors thrown open to reveal the stark contrast within. One side was all dark colors and edgy pieces - ripped jeans, band shirts, leather jackets. The other side, which had gradually become Seungmin's over the past months, looked like a pastel explosion. Somehow his clothes had migrated here piece by piece - a sweater left after a movie night, shorts forgotten after a sleepover, until suddenly he had his own section in Jeongin's space.
Running his fingers along the hangers, Seungmin bit his lip. He wanted to look perfect for their date. His eyes scanned over his options - the pleated skirts Jeongin pretended to hate because of the length but always stared at, the oversized sweaters he'd stolen from Jeongin and never returned, the collection of shorts and pants in various pastel shades.
After ten minutes of indecision, he pulled out his phone and opened his group chat.
Seungmin: Can we facetime? Fashion emergency 🥺
Felix: Of course! Give me a sec
Hyunjin: k.
When their faces appeared on screen, Felix's bright smile dimmed slightly as he took in the familiar band posters behind Seungmin. "That's... not your room."
"No," Seungmin admitted softly, turning the camera to pan around Jeongin's space - the graffiti art on one wall, the messy desk covered in music sheets, the unmade bed that made him blush to look at after last night. He quickly turned the camera back to himself. "Jeongin and I are having a picnic date at the park, and I can't decide what to wear."
Hyunjin remained conspicuously quiet, his expression carefully neutral as he leaned against Felix's shoulder, but Felix forced another smile. "Show us what you're thinking?"
Seungmin started pulling out different options, holding each one up to the camera. "I was thinking maybe this?" He held up a pale pink sweater, then shook his head. "No, too warm for a picnic. Oh! What about-" he reached for a pleated skirt in lavender, then paused. "Maybe not for sitting on the grass though..."
He pulled out a pair of high-waisted denim shorts in the palest blue. "These might work? They're comfortable for sitting, and-" he caught himself, noticing how Hyunjin's expression tightened at what was clearly going to be a mention of Jeongin. "Um, they're good for picnics."
Felix leaned closer to his screen, his forced smile softening into something more genuine as he focused on helping his friend. "Those are perfect! What tops do you have? Maybe something light since you'll be outside?"
Seungmin turned back to the closet, rifling through his accumulated collection. He pulled out a crisp white button-up and several other options, holding each up while chattering excitedly about their date plans. "We're going to sit under that big oak tree by the pond - you know the one? And I was thinking about bringing food for the ducks, but apparently bread is bad for them, so maybe we can find proper duck food somewhere on campus? Oh, and the weather's supposed to be perfect-"
