Tomorrow is the day we leave the island. I am so excited to tell all of the people in school of our powers! Suddenly I think of something terrifying. " Guys, we can tell anyone about our powers," I say with disappointment in my voice.
       " What? Why?" Asks Talyn.
" We could be experimented on. Or scientists will be all over the island trying to find a way how this happened and the island will be full of people and we will not be able to come here anymore without people around," I answer.
" I did not think about that!" Says Mack.
" Neither did I," says Talyn, Darby, and Bethany.
" We have to keep this a secret," says Bethany.
"What about our parents?" Asks Darby.
" I tell my parents everything," says Talyn.
" My mom and dad tells everyone anything I tell them, even if I tell them not to," says Mack.
" My parents can keep a secret," says Darby.
"Same," says Bethany. "Same," says Talyn.
             " Same," I say.
            " I don't know," says Mack.
" Mack it's fine. Whoever trusts their parents to not say anything can tell them, or they do not have too. I am going to tell my parents. Who else is so we will know?" Talyn asks.
            " I am," I say.
" Me too," says Darby and Bethany.
" Are you Mack?" I ask. " I don't know. I will tell you if I do," replies Mack.
Changing the subject, I say, " Lets tell scary stories and eat s'mores!" I say.
" ok I will get the crackers and marshmallows. Talyn can you get sticks for us?" asks Mack.
"sure. Can you help me Sarah?" She replies.
              " Sure," I answer.
" I got the chocolate," says Bethany.
" I will start the fire," says Darby. " Mack can you throw me the lighter in your bag?" Darby asks.
"Yeah," she says tossing her the lighter. We still have sticks left so she does not have to find any.
I help Talyn get sticks to put the marshmallows on when we roast them. Once we get enough we go back to our friends and sit around the fire with them. I sit down next to Darby and Talyn.
" lets tell scary stories," I say putting a marshmallow on my stick and putting it over the fire.
" Yay! I will go first!" Says Darby. "Ok," We say. " This one is not scary, but it has ghosts and is sad," She says. " There was a girl named Haley and she had a dog named Ewan. It was Rusty, but after what happened two weeks after she got him, she did not think it suit him.
This is what happened. Haley and Rusty were playing in the backyard before school started. Rusty was not his normal self. He was very jumpy and would not go after the ball she threw if it was too far away from her. Haley looked at her watch and saw that she has to go to school. She did not want to leave him inside because he was very scared. She asked her mom if she could leave him inside for just one day. Her mom said no, because she did not want him chasing the cats, which he has done before. She left Rusty out side and her mom and dad went to work while she waited for the school bus. Her house was at the end of the street, next to the bus stop and she could hear her dog whining. If made her so sad to hear that, but she could do nothing about it because the bus was already here.
When she got to school, a terrible storm came and the wind was really strong. By the time she was in third period, there was a tornado warning. She was terrified because she left Rusty outside. He was only a puppy and very small. Suddenly a teacher said that a tornado is a mile away from us and we need to get cover. Everyone got cover except one person. Haley. She tried to run outside to get her dog, but the teacher caught her before she could get to the door. She yelled that she had to save her dog, but the teacher would not let her go. 5 minutes later they said over the loud speaker that we could continue work, that the tornado passed through and missed us. Haley's parents came into the classroom she was in and told her the twister hit their house. They drove home as fast as they can after they got her out of school. When they got home Haley looked everywhere for Rusty but could not find him. She saw a neighbor out side and asked her if she had seen the dog. She said no but when she saw the tornado hit our house, she saw something brown and white go up into the tornado. Rusty was brown and white. Haley cried and cried.
The next morning hey got a call from some one saying they found her dog. They said when the tornado stopped he fell into their trampoline. He was lucky. They rushed over to get rusty. He had a broken leg but that was it.
After that she changed his name to Ewan. It means young warrior.
5 years later, she took Ewan on a walk. She was walking to the dog park. She had to cross a very busy street. When the sign said walk, she walked to the middle of the street when a drunk driver flew around the corner and hit her. People ran out of their cars to help her. She was rushed to the hospital and her dog was rushed to the vet. Sadly Ewan could not be saved. He died on the way to the vet. Haley had a broken leg and arm. She also had a concussion. When her parents made it to the hospital they told her that Ewan was fine, to not make her sad. In the middle of the night in the hospital room, she saw Ewan in the room. He jumped on her bed and lay with her. She thought that it was him but it was his spirit. When a nurse came in to check in Haley, Ewan disappeared. In the morning her parents told her what happened. No one believed her that she saw him, but she knew that she saw him." told Darby.
"That's sad," said Mack. we nod in agreement eating our marshmallows.
" We should probably get ready to leave tomorrow," says Bethany.
" Lets use magic," says Darby. She points at the bags and they open. She points at the clothes and food and everything we brought that needs to be put up and points to the bag. everything goes into the bags and they zip up.
" That was fast," giggles Talyn.
