~ Chapter 4: Misunderstandings and Panic, Lost and Running ~
“All right we’re here!” Farron said, gripping the sides of his stomach.
Leif looked around the forest. “Are you sure we should be here? What if something happens and the forest gets destroyed? Then we’ll have another mess to clean.”
“Oh, stop worrying, master Leif! It’ll be fine!” he said, waving his hand.
“All right…” he mumbled Whatever you say…
They found a small open area with a lone tree standing in the centre. Its light green leaves swayed in the wind gracefully. Its gentle sound of the wind brushing against its leaves created a soothing melody, as if it calmed their worried hearts.
“It’s… very peaceful out here, isn’t it, Farron?”
“Tranquil indeed, master Leif.” He replied with a smile.
Leif frowned a bit. “Hey, you can stop calling me ‘master’ now.”
Farron stared at him with questioning eyes.
“After all,” he said scratching his cheek “We are working together now.”
Farron smiled and chuckled to himself as he heard those words. He signalled Leif to follow him deeper into the forest into a much wider area, empty from the trees that were in their way. Farron took a few steps more ahead of Leif then turned to him.
“Ok, first thing about magic is to understand what kind of environment you find most productive. To put it simply, find your mojo, what type of atmosphere lets you feel like… you’re….. erm…..” he scratched his head while thinking of the right phrasing “Erm…. Sorry…. I can’t really explain. Just find your mojo. Your...… element. Yes, that’s it! Be in your element.”
Leif scratched his head at this vague explanation. “Element?? Like, literally? Because I know there’s water, fire, earth and so on. By the way, what element do you use?”
“Ohoh!” he smirked, wiping his chin “Would you like to see?”
Leif nodded enthusiastically as he sat down; looking up at him as if he was saying “Please teach me, master!” Farron gave a proud ‘hmph’ as he took of the coat of his butler suit. He closed his eyes, inhaling a large amount of air.
Quickly, he opened his eyes as he lunged towards a tree on the opposite side they were staying. He jumped up high into the air, a solid 10 meters, as he darted down at the tree with his foot aiming to smash it. His foot started to glow a bright yellow light as a burst of speed threw him faster. Closer and closer he got until he was right in front of the tree.
“Quick-as lightning…” he muttered before he collided with the hard wood “KICK!”
As soon as he said the word ‘kick’, a burst of lightning emitted from the bottom of shoes, shooting down deep into the ground. The kick sent the tree flying, smashing through the thick forest. Farron saw Leif ooh and ah-ing at his shocking magic in the distance. He rubbed his hands together as he walked back to where Leif sat.
“How was that?”
“That was….. amazing!!” He said with a brightly admiring face “But… we got some trouble….”
Farron’s questioning expression seemed clear to Leif that he didn’t know what he was talking about. He looked over Farron’s shoulder and pointed at the mess he left behind him. The scar in the forest was now on fire, burning bright as the sun.
