Chapter 6

MYSTIC FALLS-THE CRYPT-DAY
[Necromancer and Alyssa are talking.]
Necromancer: I made you an offer!
Alyssa: And I'm considering it. If my skill set can affect real change around here. Starting with this. [Alyssa walks toward Malivore.]
Necromancer: Is the reconstituted Malivore Pit. It's a portal to another dimension, forged by my own black hand.
Alyssa: It's an eyesore. But I guess we could throw a rug over it.
"He lets her boss over him?" Asked surprised Kol.
Necromancer: We will do no such thing. You clearly do not understand the power dynamic at play here.
Alyssa: Oh, sure I do. The way I see it, this is a job interview. So this is as much about me interviewing you as it is about you interviewing me. Now, how are you gonna raise Malivore?What's your, like, plan?
Necromancer: Your mind would shatter at its sheer scope. [Alyssa puts cloak over bench and sits.]
Alyssa: Then get to shattering. 'Cause I'm not signing up until I know exactly what our mission statement is.
"She is brave." Said Caroline.
Necromancer: Mission statement?
Alyssa: And, more importantly, how much pain and misery it's gonna rain down on the Salvatore School. So, go ahead. Pitch me.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-CARLOS'S DORM-DAY
[Carlos is sitting on his bed, looking at Maeve's picture. Audrey knocks on door, then opens it and walks in without waiting for response. Carlos looks up.]
Carlos: Did you need something?
Audrey: No. Just wanted to see you. How are you?
Carlos: Fine.
Audrey hugs Klaus's torso. Klaus looks surprised,  but wraps his own arms around her.
"Are you okay?" Asked Klaus. Audrey nodded. Klaus looked at Hope for answer. Hope nodded toward screen. Mikaelsons look worried.
Audrey: We will figure it out, Carlos. We always do.
Carlos: What if i don't want to?
"He- he wants to die?" Asked Caroline.
Audrey: What?
Carlos: I have already told you before, Audrey. I am tired. I just want to rest.
Audrey: Carlos--
Carlos: No, no. Listen, please, just listen, Okay? [Audrey nods.]
Carlos: I tried living because that's what you wanted and i didn't want to hurt you, but the most days only getting up from bed feels like a challenge that takes up all my energy. The more time passes, the more i'm reminded that I have lost everything: My family, my love, my world, myself, my will to live...
[Audrey looks at him with eyes full of guilt and sadness.]
Klaus gives Carlos empathetic look. After all, He knows more than anyone what it's like to want to die.
Carlos: You said i am 25 because time in Malivore doesn't count, but it does. I was stuck in there for sooo long. [Carlos closes his eyes and leans his head on bed. Audrey looks on verge of tears as well.]
People give Carlos pity looks.
Carlos: (quietly) It broke me, Audrey. Malivore broke me into pieces. [Carlos opens his eyes and looks into Audrey's eyes.]
Carlos: You can't save everyone no matter how much you want to. You can't save me.
Audrey tightens her hold. Klaus soothing pats her back.
Carlos: I died the day i lost Maeve and i got stuck in that hell. Only reason i lived for was hope that if i get out i would see Maeve again, but then i found out that she was also suffering in the hell i had to live in for centuries and only way to save her was to become Malivore's puppet and i did. (Tears roll down his face) Then i find out i can't save her, because she is actually dead and i am left all alone in a strange world, where nothing is familiar. People, buildings, inventions- evrything is different, nothing remains from my life. Every step i take is just another reminder that i don't belong here.
"Poor boy." Said Freya quietly. Everyone in the room is looking at Carlos sadly. Worried Hayley glances at Audrey time to time, guessing what is about to happen.
Carlos: Only purpose i have left to live for is revenge and i tried to cling on to that. I tried to avenge my love, my beautiful angel and-- an- and (pause) myself.
[Sob breaks out of Carlos and tears run down his face like waterfalls. Audrey can't hold back tears anymore and she silently cries for her friend.]
Carlos: (sobbing) The li-life i have lost. [Carlos tries to wipe his tears with shaking hand.]
Carlos: Hap-Happiness and-- and-- The- the y-yo-youth that was-- that was unfairly taken from me. [Audrey hugs him and both of them mourn for Carlos that was lost that fateful day.]
"It's the first time he mourns himself and not only Maeve." Said Marcel sadly.
Carlos: I -- i used to laugh, you know? (Wet chuckle) i never had easy life, but i-- i -- used to love living-- [Carlos's jaw is trembling like rest of his body as sobs break out of him.]
People look at him with pity.
"He was still so young." Said Freya. Audrey is sobbing, Klaus's shirt is wet with Audrey's tears. He tries to comfort Audrey with no successs.
Audrey: I'm sorry. I should have noticed. I should have--
Carlos: Can't you hear me? You can't help me. No one can. I'm too severed. My soul, my mind, my heart-- everything in me is in pieces. I-- i tried-- i tried so hard-- I can't-- (Desperatly) please, please, don't make me. Just let me go.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-LIBRARY-DAY
[Everyone is searching through books. Including vampires who are using vamp-speed. Hope takes book from shelf. Lizzie appeoaches her.]
Lizzie: So, about those healing spells.
Hope: None of them worked?
Lizzie: Not as intended.
Hope: Well, the day is not over yet.
Lizzie: Hope, we've tried everything. You know what we need to do.
"What?" Asked Stefan. Quiet sniffling is still heard from Audrey.
Hope: We're not doing a linking spell.
Lizzie: Why not? It's the exact thing that you did - to save me from the Merge.
"It wouldn't work." Said Kol.
Hope: But that was different. If I link Landon to Raf and Carlos, Landon would have to die and resurrect every single day. We don't know how many lives Landon has left and if it even works on two people. We could kill them all.
Lizzie: Well, have you thought about what Landon would want? [Hope looks like she's thinking, then picks up book.]
Hope: I might have another idea.
RAFAEL'S FATHER'S HOUSE-DAY
[Rafael is sitting at table. Landon is standing near fire place.]
Rafael: God, I hate waiting around like this. Every second counts.
Landon: Well, I'm sure he'll be back soon.
Rafael: And what if he's not? I may never get to say goodbye, Lan.
People look at Rafael sadly.
Landon: Come on. Don't say that. [Landon sits across Rafael.]
Rafael: One day is all I wanted. I just wanted one day to be normal again.
Landon: Look, we're gonna beat this.
Rafael: Come on, man. Does that sound like my life? Nothing ever goes my way, Lan. What makes you think that today's gonna be any different? [Ryan barges in house.]
Ryan: Hey, camping trip is over. Hope has a plan. Come on.
SALVATORE SCHOOL-CORRIDOR-DAY
[Audrey and Hope are walking together.]
Audrey: I don't want Carlos to be alone right now, Hope. Get to the point.
Hope: I want to use Carlos' trident to put their consciousness in someone else's body.
Audrey: Trident wouldn't be able to stop... You are planing to modify it to transfer energy instead of consciousness.
"You are very smart." Said Kol. Audrey is still clinging on Klaus like her life depends on it. Mikaelsons look worried for her.
Hope: (nervously) Yes and there is two problems. [Audrey motioned 'go on' to Hope.]
Hope: First, we would have to use phoenix energy, so...
Audrey: So Landon will become mortal. Does Ryan know?
Hope: (winces) I was planing to tell him whole plan with Landon and Rafael.
Audrey: (sighs) He won't like it. Second problem?
Hope: It wouldn't work on two people. [This time it is Audrey's turn to wince. Her eyes look full of sadness.]
Audrey: That's not problem.
Hope: (confused) What do you mean?
Audrey: Carlos decided he wanted to die.
Hope: And you want me to believe you won't do anything about it? [Audrey winced again.]
Audrey: Not this time. [Hope looks at her shocked.]
Everyone looks surprised even if they guessed it. Klaus grimces when Audrey is hold tightens and soothingly runs his hand through her hair. It seems to relax Audrey a little.
MYSTIC FALLS-THE CRYPT-DAY
[Necromancer gives a bow.]
Necromancer: Thank you.
Alyssa: That's it? [Necromancer runs to her.]
Necromancer: Were you expecting more?
Alyssa: Kind of.  [Necromancer yells frustrated.]
Necromancer: Your puny mind could not possibly process the profundity of my plot!
Audrey rolls her eyes at Necromancer.
Alyssa: One: Acquire buttload of dark magic. Two: Use aforementioned buttload to reenact the original Triad spell and raise Malivore from the Pit. Three: Rewrite the spell so that Malivore serves you instead of the Triad. Four: Malivore is your servant forever.
Necromancer: Yes. That's pretty much it. [Alyssa goes to Necromancer.]
Alyssa: Well, I didn't say plan. It's just a little small.
Necromancer: What? [Alyssa circles him.]
Alyssa: I get why you're pissed at Malivore, but don't you think you should do more with all that black magic than bring him back to shine your shoes?
Necromancer: He started it.
"He is a child! I can't belive we had problem dealing with him." Said Audrey.
Alyssa: It's petty. You're better than this.
Necromancer: Ah...
Alyssa: We're better than this. This spell's a sequel, right? That means it has to be bigger and badder than the one before.
Necromancer: I must admit, I like the sound of that. What do you have in mind?
Alyssa: We bring back Malivore, just like you said. But we don't stop there. We bring back all the monsters.
Everyone gives Alyssa annoyed look.
