"Next time, try to be swifter," Chara sneered, drifting around Undyne with a sly grin, hands miming a strangling motion at her throat.

Sans's expression was indifferent as he eyed the lifeless streets of Snowdin. "No need to rush it, kid. These souls aren't coming back once they're dust. Savor the journey."

A figure appeared in the ruins of the street—Mettaton, his frame silhouetted by the glow of flickering drones hovering around him, microphone in hand and looking the very image of a showman prepared for the spotlight.

Sans raised a brow, his gaze turning cautious. "Hey there, lad. What brings you out here? is a skeleton too much to handle?"

Lights on Mettaton's face flickered, and his screen paused dramatically before flashing one word in bold: "PURPOSE."

"My dear Halloween decoration," Mettaton's voice purred, reverberating through his speakers. "I'm here to give my audience a show like no other." He gestured grandly toward the drones circling overhead, their lights blinking in synchronization. "And, of course, to fulfill Dr. Alphys's latest vision." His arm swept back to reveal a device attached to his back, humming with a low, ominous whir.

Sans cocked his head, cracking a smirk as he summoned a blaster, taking a shot directly at Mettaton. Undyne stepped forward to stop it with her spear, but before it could connect, a shield flickered around the robot, stopping the blast inches from his face and absorbing it with a faint hum.

A taunting laugh echoed from Mettaton as the drones zoomed in, capturing every angle. "Expected that!" His face displayed a smug exclamation mark as he flipped a switch on the device. The machine whirred to life, and in its wake, dozens of small, white rabbits materialized, each one hopping playfully, adding a chilling edge to the scene.

"Feast your eyes on Alphys's latest masterpiece: the Destruction Engine!" Mettaton declared, the device behind him glowing brighter as the rabbits continued multiplying with each attack it absorbed. The drones emitted applause, their lights flashing in approval.

Sans scowled, trying to focus his magic to grab hold of Mettaton's soul—but felt nothing. His smirk faded. "robot, of course" he muttered, retreating to reassess. He barely had a second to think before one of the rabbits, clucking softly, bounded over to him.

"Oh, hey, little guy," Sans crouched, extending a hand toward it. The rabbit leaned into his touch, vibrating slightly—then it expanded rapidly, a fierce glow radiating from its body before exploding right in Sans's hand.

Across the field, Undyne's laughter rang out as she watched Sans recoil, smoke curling from his hand. "Now that's the kind of pet I could use!" she taunted, her voice edged with malice.

Mettaton clapped his hands in delight, each sound amplified by his speakers. "Behold! Alphys's latest creation turns any external energy into these delightful rabbit bombs," he announced proudly. "Beautiful, innocent—until they explode, of course."

Ignoring their taunts, Sans summoned another blaster, attempting to bypass Mettaton's shield by aiming directly at his back. The blast struck the shield again, absorbed by the device. Instantly, more rabbits appeared, hopping around him with sinister enthusiasm.

Sans clicked his tongue in irritation, realizing his options were dwindling as the number of rabbits multiplied. With every step, they closed in, forcing him to mount one of his blasters, hovering to stay clear of the explosive minefield below.

Meanwhile, Undyne lurched forward, flinging a spear that narrowly missed Sans. "Damn this body!" she hissed, breathing heavily. Mettaton turned to her, his screen flashing red. "Your safety is my priority, General," he warned, his tone both respectful and firm. "Stand by—I'll handle this."
