Sune stood defiantly in the dimly lit chamber of Alita’s castle, her heart racing with fear yet bolstered by a newfound determination. “I won’t be your pawn,” she declared, her voice steady despite the turmoil swarming within. “Let me go!”

Alita smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “You don’t even comprehend the power you possess, do you, Sune? You’re far too special to just walk away.”

“I don’t want any part of your schemes! Just let me leave!” Sune's voice trembled slightly, but her conviction remained firm.

Alita’s amusement faded, replaced by a flash of irritation. “You think freedom is what you truly want? You’re stronger than you know, but if you insist on resisting…” Her tone shifted ominously as she stepped closer, darkness swirling around her fingertips.

Before Sune could react, Alita snapped her fingers, and a bolt of shadowy energy shot across the room, striking Sune in the side. Pain exploded through her body, and she gasped, collapsing to her knees. “You… you’ll regret this!” Sune shouted, clutching her wound, fury igniting her spirit even as her strength waned.

Just then, the heavy castle doors creaked open, and the sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the halls. Lina and the rest of the gang burst in, their faces painted with determination and dread.

“Sune!” Lina cried, her heart seizing at the sight of her love on the floor. But before they could rush to her side, Abigor stepped forward, his presence towering and menacing.

“Stay back!” he warned, eyes flashing dangerously. “She’s under my mistress’s protection!”

“Not for long!” Lina retorted, a fury emanating from her as she prepared to fight. Sune looked up, meeting Lina’s frantic eyes, desperation flooding her.

“Lina! Get away—”

But before Sune could finish, the battle erupted. Alita gestured, summoning shadows to her aid, while Abigor lunged at the group. In a desperate moment, he redirected his focus toward John.

“No!” Freya shouted, darting forward, but Abigor was quicker, a feral grin spreading across his face as he collided with John. The impact was powerful; John was sent flying across the room, crashing against the stone wall with a sickening thud.

“JOHN!” Lina screamed, horror washing over her as time seemed to stand still. The room erupted into chaos—a swirling mass of shadow, fear, and rage.

Sune felt the energy within her surging. Unbeknownst to her, the latent abilities simmering just beneath her surface reacted to the unfolding danger—and to the sight of John’s still form against the stone.

“Get away from him!” Sune cried, the pain in her side igniting her fury. In that moment, fueled by raw emotion, the power within her unleashed like a tempest.

The air thickened around them, and a radiant energy surged through Sune. It was as if she tapped into a well of strength she never knew existed, a haunting beauty that flickered across her eyes.

“Stand back!” Sune shouted, her voice commanding as she stepped forward, power pulsating from her very being. She raised her hands, and an explosion of light erupted from her fingertips, striking Abigor with an intensity that knocked him off his feet.

“What?!” Alita exclaimed, eyes wide in shock. “No! You can’t—”

But Sune was unrelenting. With a deafening roar, she channeled her energy again, and this time it manifested as a brilliant bolt of magic that struck Abigor squarely in the chest. He staggered back, flames igniting around him as he let out a pained howl, quickly engulfed by the power coursing through the air.

In those fateful moments, Abigor crumpled to the floor, his form darkening and then disappearing into shadows. The room fell deathly quiet, a stunned silence enveloping them. Sune’s breath quickened as she took in what had just happened.

“Did I… did I just kill him?” she asked, incredulity taking hold.

Alita glared at Sune, her expression morphing from shock to rage. “You foolish girl! You just made an enemy of me!” Before anyone could react, she turned on her heel and vanished into the shadows, teleporting away with a swift motion, leaving Sune and the group behind.

“Sune?” Lina’s voice broke through the sea of horror, rushing to her side. “Are you okay?”

“I… I think so,” Sune stammered, fear still coursing through her veins. But even as relief washed over her, the reality of the situation began to unfold.

They turned towards John, who lay still against the wall. Panic surged through the group as they rushed to his side, their hearts thumping wildly.

“John? Please, wake up!” Freya begged, kneeling beside him, shaking him gently.

But he didn’t stir.

“No, no, no…” Lina whispered, a chilling edge to her voice as she knelt beside her friend, raw fear evident in her eyes. “This can’t be happening!”

Sune felt the world spin around her, her heart dropping into her stomach. The flush of victory faded, replaced by visceral sorrow. “I didn’t mean for this to happen,” she whispered, tears filling her eyes as she grasped the reality that one of their own had fallen.

As the heavy atmosphere of grief enveloped them, the weight of the evening settled like a storm cloud, dark and impenetrable. The stakes had escalated far beyond their expectations, and John’s lifeless form served as a stark reminder that their world was cruel and unforgiving.

In that moment, sorrow replaced any inkling of joy they had felt moments before. The truth resonated through each of them: they were now irrevocably entangled in a fight against darkness, a battle that would soon claim more than they ever imagined.
