The days that followed John’s unexpected return were filled with a mix of joy and determination. With Alita still lurking in the shadows and the realities of their supernatural world pressing down upon them, Sune knew she needed to hone her abilities. Being a Tripod—part vampire, part witch, and part werewolf—meant she had a wealth of power at her fingertips, and it was about time she learned how to wield it.

The group had gathered at the cabin, a place filled with echoes of happiness and shadows of sorrow, transformed into a sanctuary of learning. John, who had rejoined the fold seamlessly, stood alongside Lina, Freya, and Cassandra, ready to guide Sune through the intricate web of abilities she was destined to master.

“Okay, Sune,” Lina began, her tone both encouraging and firm. “Since I’m a vampire, I’ll start with the vampiric abilities. You already know about super speed and strength, but there’s more to it.”

Sune nodded, excitement bubbling beneath her anxiety. “I’m ready.”

Lina gestured for Sune to follow her outside, where they could utilize the open space. “The first thing we need to work on is your super speed,” she explained. “It can be quite disorienting at first, so consistency is key.”

“Let’s take a few steps back,” John added with a teasing grin. “You don’t want to run into a tree on your first try.”

Sune chuckled nervously as the group formed a loose circle around her. Lina began demonstrating, moving in a blur around the clearing, returning to Sune’s side in the blink of an eye, her vampire gift at work.

“See how I can shift my direction instantly?” Lina said, her excitement infectious. “Now, you try. Focus on your energy and visualize rushing from point A to point B.”

Sune took a deep breath, her heart racing as she concentrated. She watched Lina move again, her movements fluid and effortless, then closed her eyes, envisioning herself in motion. When she felt ready, she sprang forward—but instead of taking off, she stumbled, losing her balance and nearly falling to the ground.

“Whoa!” Freya laughed, her spirit high. “Looks like our little Tripod is more of a tripod already!”

“Let’s give it another shot,” Lina encouraged, her face soft with understanding. “That’s the beauty of this—you’ll get better with practice.”

Sune nodded, determination igniting within her. With another attempt, she pictured herself racing forward, feeling the energy pulse through her legs. This time, as she darted, she felt the wind rush past her, her speed picking up. She let out a whoop of joy as she made it to the edge of the clearing, adrenaline coursing through her veins.

“Now that’s what I’m talking about!” Lina cheered as Sune returned with a grin. “You’re getting the hang of it!”

“Next, let’s see what you’ve got with vampiric strength,” John said, clapping Sune on the back. “Lina, what do you think?”

“Absolutely. Sune, let’s find some heavier rocks—something to test your strength,” Lina instructed, leading the way to a nearby hillside dotted with rocks.

They picked out a few sizeable boulders, each one more daunting than the last. “Try lifting this, and remember to channel your energy,” Lina encouraged as Sune approached the largest rock.

With a focused expression, Sune planted her feet and bent her knees, channeling her innermost strength. She grasped the large boulder and strained against the weight. To her surprise, she managed to lift it off the ground a few inches before stumbling back, her body wobbling slightly.

“That was amazing!” Freya exclaimed, her eyes wide in awe. “You’ve got vampire strength, Sune! Just imagine being able to throw one of those rocks!”

After several attempts, Sune laughed breathlessly, a surge of confidence rising in her. “I might need a little more practice!”

“Don’t worry,” Lina said, beaming. “You’re doing great. Next up is your witch capabilities.”

As they returned to the cabin, Cassandra stood ready, a collection of herbs and crystals sprawled out on the table. She smiled warmly at Sune, beckoning her to sit beside her. “Welcome to witchcraft 101,” she said. “It’s essential for you to learn how to manipulate energy and use spells effectively.”

“Where do I even start?” Sune asked, her curiosity piqued.

Cassandra picked up a small crystal and placed it in Sune’s hands. “This is a focus crystal. When you channel your energy through it, it connects you to magical forces. Try to feel the energy between you and the crystal.”

Sune closed her eyes, concentrating as she held the crystal. After a few moments, she felt a warm, tingling sensation coursing through her palms. “I can feel it!” she exclaimed, her eyes widening.

“Good! Now, think of something you want to achieve with magic—perhaps creating a small flame or moving an object,” Cassandra encouraged, watching eagerly. “Use that focus to shape your intention.”

With firm determination, Sune envisioned a small flicker of fire igniting in her palm. She focused on the sensation of warmth and energy swirling within the crystal and her own hand. To her surprise, a small flicker of flame appeared, dancing in her palm.

“Wow!” Sune gasped, almost dropping the crystal in shock. “I actually did it!”

Cassandra’s eyes sparkled with pride. “That’s amazing! Keep practicing, and you’ll find your spellwork becoming second nature.”

“Alright, let’s switch things up,” Freya said, stepping forward. “Now, let’s work on some werewolf skills—like agility and heightened senses.”

They moved outside once more, and Freya instructed Sune to run through an obstacle course she had set up with fallen logs and natural routes. “Wolves are known for their agility. Let’s see how well you can navigate! Remember to trust your instincts,” Freya guided, her enthusiasm infectious.

Sune took off running, the adrenaline pushing her forward. She leaped over logs, ducked under branches, and weaved through the trees, feeling the exhilaration of speed and agility with each movement. Freya cheered her on, and Sune couldn’t help but feel the thrill coursing through her veins.

Afterwards, Freya guided Sune through exercises designed to tune her other senses—listening intently for whispers of the wind, catching faint scents, and observing the details in the environment. “Feel the world around you,” Freya instructed. “Tap into the feelings of what it means to be alive.”

Hours passed as Sune practiced and learned, the sun slowly setting behind the horizon. With every bit of knowledge and practice, she felt more connected to herself and to the strengths of her heritage.

Finally, the group reconvened, the air buzzing with camaraderie and laughter as they settled down to share their stories and successes from the day.

“I can’t believe how far you’ve come,” Lina said, brushing her shoulder against Sune’s, her heart swelling with pride.

“Thanks to all of you,” Sune replied, her eyes sparkling as their fingers brushed together. Though an air of unspoken feelings lingered between them, Sune felt grateful to be embraced by this new beginning.

As twilight descended, Sune knew she was embarking on a journey of transformation, one that would harness the unique powers of a Tripod and help her forge her own path into the supernatural world—a world filled with magic, strength, and endless possibilities. With her friends by her side, Sune could finally see the light beyond the shadows of grief, filled with hope, love, and the promise of what was to come.
