when i walked through the door, with a strangely peaceful heart and mind, i found james and leo playing video games in the living room
'hey paris' james greeted and i gave him a smile
'hi'
'how did it went?'
'good' i say with a little smile, i gave leo a peck on the lips and went to make a tea, before i could even realise it, scarlett walked out of the bathroom and made her way here, she didn't expect to see me
once she did she seemed a bit surprised, she just awkwardly smiled, i did the same
i then surprised my own self by offering her tea, and though she was hesitant a bit she eventually agreed and followed me
she sat on the stool while i was preparing our warm drinks
'what's this?' she asked glancing at the box
'just a few orders i made, it'd be nice if you could open them while i prepare those'
'sure'
i watched her open carefully the box, holding all the baby clothes i bought
her eyes lightning up with every little piece of fabric
'these are adorable'

i passed her the tea and leaned on the counter with mine between my fingers
i saw how she tried to find something to talk on, to make this a bit less awkward, she was biting her inner cheek
'wanna see the baby room?' i requested and she quickly nodded
she followed me closely
'it's not ready yet, we actually painted it today, a lot of the stuff aren't even here yet'
'it looks really cute already'
i nodded
'how far are you?'
'im at 16 weeks'
'great, that's great paris'
'do you wanna drink this in the balcony?'
she nodded
'well i don't know if it's great, see this wasn't planned' i start up once we're settled, having the upper east side for a view and our mugs in hand

she smiles
'course you do, she's gonna be the cutest'
we stay in silence after that, it wasn't the awkward one though, at least for me
