Ga On obviously couldn't handle not explaining himself to Soo Hyun, so he went to see her at work the next day.
As soon as she saw him though, she didn't look happy. She ran away from him so that they wouldn't be directly in front of her workplace and when they were far enough she stopped and she slapped him.
Like actually slapped him on the face.
He's never seen her this angry.
"Do you have any idea what I had to do because of you? Huh?!" Soo Hyun spoke, clearly too mad to be polite. "I had to destroy evidence, Ga On!" She whisper-shouted. "How could you let me do that? How could you make me do that for you, Ga On?" She asked, sounding incredibly devastated.
Ga On felt like crying. He had no idea what he should say in this situation. He was ashamed, for one. He hated himself for making her do this.
"I'm sorry, Soo Hyun-ah," he said quietly.
"Just what are you and Kang Yo Han up to, huh?" Soo Hyun asked with a bitter voice. "What is he making you do? Most importantly, why are you listening to him?" She continued. "Why are you even on his side, Ga On?!" She asked, demanding an answer.
And what was he supposed to tell her?
Would it be okay to tell her the whole truth in this situation? Of course not, she'd hate him even more.
"He's really gotten inside your head, hasn't he?" Soo Hyun commented, looking at Ga On with such disappointed face. "Are you that blind? Are you seriously foolishly following him just because you're sleeping with him?" She added then.
Ga On froze hearing that.
It couldn't be.
There was no way he heard that right.
He lifted his gaze up to look at Soo Hyun with shock all over his face and he noticed that she took a few steps back, looking at him like he was someone she didn't recognize anymore.
"W-what?" Ga On breathed out.
"Don't even try and deny it," Soo Hyun warned him. "I saw you two. I didn't want to say anything, because I was stupid enough to think that we were best friends and that you wouldn't tell me about things like that. It seems like he's the one topic you never want to talk about."
"How— What did you see exactly?" Ga On asked her, still lost for words.
"I saw you two kissing after Juk Chang's arrest," she clarified.
Fuck, that was a while ago.
And Ga On knew they should have been more careful. He's really glad he stopped Yo Han at just kissing.
He was going to be sick.
"You knew all this time and you never said anything?" Ga On frowned at her, mortified.
"I didn't know what that was," Soo Hyun admitted. "I— Well, I kind of know you've always been into men as well, and I'm fine with that, but it's Kang Yo Han we're talking about. I had no idea if it's intentional, or if you're doing it as a part of the plan, to get information out of him. And I figured since you didn't say anything then you clearly weren't ready to talk about it."
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, Soo Hyun-ah," Ga On said quietly. "I was just really afraid of what you'd think of me," he admitted, looking away, the tears were pouring out of his eyes at this point.
"Telling me sooner would have been the right choice," Soo Hyun pointed out. "We would have avoided all that distrust and secrets and awkwardness, Ga On-ah."
