Chpt. 7: The Woman In Red

Readers P.O.V.

Sebastian came in with my tea soon after I finished reading the letter.

"Here you are my lady", he said, with a light pep in his voice, "Also, Ciel would like to see you. I will bring your tea there".

"Thank you Sebastian" I said with gratitude.

"Please follow me" and we walked into Ciel's office.                                                                                                        

I went in and sat down, but Ciel got up and turned from me. I was confused. He sighed and went through a drawer in his desk. He pulled out a box and set it on the desk. He took my hand and placed the box in it. Ciel broke the silence.

"Open it. His last wish was to send you this." It was a pair of eyes. Cath's eyes, to be exact. I took the right eye and broke it in half. Ciel's eyes widened, "Wha-"

"I don't care for trinkets such as this. Now, dearest Ciel, if you may, I need to get my rest." and Sebastian followed me and prepared my room.

It became the evening in almost seconds, and Ciel asked for me to have dinner with him. I walked into the dinning room laden with sweets. A gold dining table, with an assortment of foods, and to top it off, a turkey in the middle, roasted to absolute perfection. I sat at the chair across from Ciel, while a girl with pink-red hair stood next to me. I wasn't going to assume anything, so I asked her to have a seat.

"Oh no, I'm only a maid here, but thank you. I may be forever in your favor, I will" she said bowing and with an excited tone.

"What is your name?" I asked, and she replied "Mey-Rin".

"Pleased to meet you. I'm Ciel's cousin, Rose."I responded lightly. Sebastian chuckled at this.

"Are you seeing Angelina tomorrow?" Ciel spoke before downing a piece of lemon cake.

In the sweetest tone I could use, "Yes. She wants me to meet a young count by the name of Alois Trancy."

"Dear god.. well if you must." Ciel said without emotion in his voice. Just then Pluto ran in wearing a black suit. He held on to my right leg, slightly tearing my white stockings. He started chewing the hem of my black dress, just a plain house dress so it didn't matter much to me. Ciel yelled for Pluto to leave, but I brushed off his request.

"This is an order Pluto!" he shouted and all I could do was laugh.

I stated bluntly in a calm tone, "Do you order him around like your butler? Or rather, do you order Sebastian around like you do your dog? He is just a sweet little dog, leave him be."

He seemed stunned at my words as Pluto got up and started fiddling with my hair.  I finished dinner and then thanked him, he seemed content with me around again. I went to retire when Mey-Rin came to me and asked why I was so nice to her.

"Well, I'm very accommodating and its common, and as you can see, that's why me and the Earl have bonded like when we were just kids." I smiled. I allowed her to tend to me, and she brought in Earl Grey tea. I thanked her and asked her to help me pick out my outfit for tomorrow. I decided she would do my hair in the morning since Angelina would be here around noon time. It would be having my hair in a high bun with two long curls coming from it. We picked out a crimson dress that had white roses decorating it, white socks, and gray shoes. I thanked her and bid her goodnight, and she did the same happily. But then I thought for a bit, who is Alois Trancy? How do I address him? What will he think of me? Will he live up to the standard Ciel had set for me when we were kids, although it was adorably vague. He said that he had to be just like his own father, brave, kind, and loving. Why was he gone to? To find that they were dead tore me to pieces. They, including Angelina, were true parents. I'm sure having this piece of his past around doesn't help. If this boy from across London was the one I had to marry, so be it. I started to remember something that happened that made my heart beat twice as fast...

( FLASHBACK )

  "There she is" I heard a familiar voice say. Quite sweetly, Elizabeth came up to me and pulled me towards Ciel and yelped "I found you, yay". We all giggled at each other and enjoyed this. It was a sunny day, possibly the best day ever.

( Flashback end )

Hmph. Well, I will have to endure this set up tomorrow. For the sake of Angelina. 

I began to drift off to sleep, and like always, I anticipated the dream I would have. I was sure it would be of that boy, but it wasn't. A goddess like fairy came to me and said, "Rose, would you like to be purified? Wash your sins-".

"Bloody no." I replied, I always had good control of dreams, and I shifted my thoughts to how I should act when I saw Angelina, just be the little girl who longed for a mother that I kept contained for so long. Alois will most likely be very clean, well mannered, and kind since Angelina only wants the best for me.

I woke up to Mey-Rin next to me, along with Pluto. I had a bath, got dressed, had breakfast with Ciel, and then came the arrival of my Angelina. She burst open the doors, and there she stood, dressed in red. Tears welled up in her eyes and we ran to each other and hugged. She was much taller than me so she knelt down to squeeze me tighter. We exchanged "I've missed you" and she said something.

"I'm sure you must be excited."

We said goodbye to Ciel and departed to see Alois Trancy, but I would really look forward to the ride home. I plan to nap. We got in the carriage and a man was sitting there.

"This is my butler, Grell Sutcliff." She said.

"Nice to meet you Miss Rose." He said, as he shifted in his seat. Angelina yelled to the man driving us to go faster, Alois had asked us to arrive by morning the next day, which was fine by me. The carriage had comfortable seats, blankets, and pillows. We first went out to eat at a fancy place who's name I can't pronounce, and we went to see a short play. It was after sunset that we really set out to see Alois.
