Margot had no one to tell about Regina trying to kiss her. No one to ask questions, no one to respond. She pursed her lips as she tapped her desk, staring at the computer screen.
Civics homework. The worst kind of homework. Margot swallowed, glancing over at her phone. She could always ask Regina herself- ask her why she tried to kiss her. Better yet, why she wanted too. Is that what Regina was trying to do?
Margot picked up her phone opening Regina's contact. She hovered over the screen, not knowing what to say. She swiped out of the message tab and opened google.
"Icebreakers" She muttered as she searched it up, flipping through different websites. She scanned them, disapproving of them all. Why couldn't she think of anything?
Margot - Hi.
Margot de-typed the message, shaking her head. She typed out another.
Margot - Were you trying to kiss me?
She shook her head again, deleting the message.
Margot - Are you gay?
Margot laughed to herself at the message. She smiled as she went to delete the message.
Regina - what r u typing?
Margot cursed under her breath, scrambling to respond. Her finger slipped, and she hit send. Margot stared in silence as she read her own message.
Margot - Are you gay?
"Are you gay?" She said aloud. "Are you gay?!" She said louder. She turned off her phone and hit herself in the head.
Her phone chimed. Margot thought this might as well be her death bell. Her signal that she'll never have any friends ever.
Regina - lol
Margot - lol
Margot pursed her lips at Regina's reply. She panicked. She responded with the same thing in a flurry of unsureness.
Regina - did u finish the civics work? It's kicking my ass rn
Regina sent a small gif, a dog playing dead. Margot smiled at the text then typed out a response.
Margot - Trying to right now. Might search up the answers.
Regina - real.
Margot raised an eyebrow. That's it? She doesn't get an actual response. It'd be weird if she asked again.
"Margot" Janis said, opening the door to Margot's room. Margot quickly turned off her phone and looked over her shoulder.
"Yeah?" Margot asked, her voice a little hoarse.
"Wanna go with Damian and I to the lacrosse game tonight?" She asked, stepping over the doorway. Margot scratched her neck then looked back at the computer.
"Yeah sure" Margot said, closing the computer.
"We'll have to go pick up Damian. Cady is at his house right now." Janis said. Margot scoffed, realizing Janis' plan.
"So you just wanted a free ride?" Margot smiled, standing up and pulling a jacket off the door. Janis smiled innocently.
"Damian's mom is using his car out of town." She said.
"And Cady?" Margot asked, crossing her arms.
"Her parents won't buy her a car after what went down between her and Regina." She informed. Margot sighed and fixed her jacket then grabbed her keys off her nightstand.
"Get in the car" Margot shook her head.
Margot crossed her arms and chewed her lip as she watched their lacrosse team run up and down the field. The stadium was full, the home-team, the devils full of red and black, and the other team on the other side of the field- the bullfrogs- full of tan and green.
