Karkat walked into the waiting room and was greeted by a tall guy in a red sweater talking a mile a minute and a smiling blonde haired boy with his shades removed. Karkat smiled. This was all he wanted. They walked out to the car and Dave and Karkat sat in the back. Kankri was talking the entire way even though he knew no one was listening to him.
"Im sorry about how I treated you when I was in there, Dave. It was a real shitty thing to do."
Dave just slid his hand into the others and brought it to his lips.
"No apology needed. I should be the one apologizing. Bro isn't the greatest of guardians and as you can tell, doesn't like me all that much" Dave got quiet during that part.
"Why don't you tell someone?"
"Last time I did he faked it off like I was being an over dramatic teenager and I ended up with a broken nose"
Karkat winced at that thought.
"Well you're more than welcome to come to my place anytime you need to get away. I wouldn't mind and Kankri doesn't give a shit even though he pretends he does"
"I heard that" Kankri said from the front seat.
"You were supposed to" he said and stuck out his tongue.
Dave smiled but felt that pang of jealously again. Bro wasn't always like this. They got along great until Bro started hanging around the wrong crowd.
"I'll remember that. Thank you Kar." he said and kissed the others cheek.

They got home and Kankri offered for Dave to stay the night and he accepted. Kankri had to work so he headed out after a little nap and said he'd be home around 9:30. The boys were still asleep when the other left so they didn't notice. Dave woke up around 11:30 and was on the floor, not the couch like he remembered. He stood up and saw that Karkat had pushed him off, he laughed and slowly laid on top of the other and poked his face.
"Hey assface, you pushed me off"
Karkat grumbled and flicked his nose.
"Fuck off, pretty boy"
Dave laughed and buried his face in the others neck and kissed softly. That sent a shudder up Karkat's spine.
"Don't tease me unless you're ready for the consequences, asshole" Karkat grumbled into a pillow.
Dave raised a brow and kissed his neck again, this time running his hands along the others side. Karkat shuddered and as he turned around he pushed Dave off the couch again and rolled back over.
"Told ya, don't poke the bear in the zoo" he mumbked
Dave laughed and ruffled the others hair before heading to the kitchen to get something to drink. He was relieved they had coffee, he needed it. His head was pounding and he was more sore than he had ever been. Karkat walked in without a shirt and a pair of boxers. Dave's cheeks got warm and he sipped his coffee again.
"Take a picture, it lasts longer" Karkat said as he yawned and grabbed a cup of coffee.
"Fuck you"
"Gladly, but after I finish my coffee" Karkat giggled and kissed the others cheek.
Karkat was still a little sore from the other day and his head hurt, but he felt nice sitting with Dave here. He knew the other had a record for being a player and doing things like that with a lot of girls and guys, he just hoped that he'd be different than the other people.
"Hey Dave..can we talk?"
Dave froze and looked the other slowly,
"Well if a sentence starts like that it usually never ends well. So lay it on me"
Karkat raised a brow,
"You're dumb. I'm not like givin' ya the boot or anything I just wanna talk. I know about you and you know about me but we dont know a lot about each other. We only know the surface stuff, y'know?"
Dave exhaled with relief and sipped his coffee again.
"Well what do we talk about?"
"I guess thats the difficult part. I don't wanna offend you or talk about something you don't like talking about."
"I feel that. Why don't we just start small. Like 'what's your favorite colour?' and then eventually work our way deeper."
Karkat shrugged and took a big sip of his drink again.
"Alrighty. You go first"
Dave chewed his lip and tapped his fingers on his cup,
"What was your favorite movie growing up?"
Karkat scratched his head and then smiled,
"I liked a movie called The Labyrinth, its about this girl who sends her brother to the goblin king and then how's through a giant labyrinth to find him again."
Dave chuckled a bit,
"Sounds like something you'd like, your turn"
"Shut up, and alright let's see"
He tapped his chin and then snapped,
"Favorite band as of the current moment"
Dave answered without hesitation,
"30 Seconds to Mars. Hands down. I've loved them since I was like 13."
Karkat giggled and nodded at the other telling him to ask something.
"How old are you, Kar?"
Karkat almost dropped his cup he laughed so hard.
"Wow, that's embarrassing. We've fucked and you don't know how old I am" he laughed and then cleared his throat, "I'm sixteen, turning seventeen in a month or so"
Dave's jaw almost dropped, he thought he was much older. Then again he was still pretty small."
"How old are you, Dave?"
"I turned 17 in March."
Karkat wasn't surprised he looked that age, maybe a little older.
"Alright, here's a question for ya Kar. Who was your first kiss?"
Karkat blushed and looked down at his cup.
"Next question"
"Nooo tell me"
Karkat bit his lip and mumbled something.
"What?" Dave raised a brow and leaned in.
"You. Okay, it was you" Karkat hid his face.
Dave smiled and grabbed the others hands,
"Why are you hiding?"
"Because you probably had your first when you were in junior high like most normal kids and I didn't have my first kiss or my first time until I was already a junior in high school" he said muffled under his hands.
"Can I be honest?"
Karkat raised a brow and looked up
"I've never kissed anyone besides you. I never kiss on the mouth. I'm like Julia Roberts on Pretty woman."
Karkat was shocked and kind of relieved. It made some sort of sense and he decided just to take his word.
"Alright Davey, I gotta question" he paused,
"What were your parents like?"
