10: Team Z vs. Team V

"-top 3 are Kunigami, Chigiri and Gagamaru if we're excluding Sachi.", Iemon announced as he shot me a quick look.
"We're going with those 3 as they've already gotten us 1 goal with their skills.
Team V's offensive power is no small matter. We'll keep our defense tight on them and keep blocking the enemy's attack! Then these 3 in the front will make a quick counterattack to score.
Ideally we'll be able to win 1:0! Without Kuon and Sachi, this is the only realistic chance we have!", Iemon encouraged while explaining the strategy.

"I'll say it again, Kuon... You better just stand on the edge of the center line for 90 minutes.
Don't help us or get in the way, you piece of trash. If you touch the ball, I'll kill you!", Raichi threatened Kuon again.
"You don't need to tell me twice."
"And you Sachi! Don't get in our way.", Raichi now spoke his mind to me.
"Get in the way? I'll do whatever I want. If you think you can stop me, try me.", I scoffed and shrugged his 'warning' off.

"We're gonna win this Team Z!"
"Yeah!"
As we walked through the hallway connecting the lockers and the field, I notice various anxious expressions.
This is stupid. I can't wait for this game to be over.
As we walked onto the field people, presumably Team V, from the opposite side began coming as well.
As the countdown reached 0, a little beep sounded indicating the kickoff.
The game started with Mikage's kickoff from Team V. He quickly made his way through the field as he passed to Tsurugi when Bachira and Isagi stood in his way.
His path to the goal was blocked off by Naruhaya and Raichi which led him to pass to Nagi.
Before the pass could reach him, someone stole the ball. This was all within Team Z's strategy. That's at least what almost everyone in Team Z thought.

Before Nagi could receive Tsurugi's pass, I swiftly intercepted the pass and ran up the field.
"What?! I told you not to interfere!?", Raichi screamed furiously.
I simply ignored his outburst as I blitzed through Team V's half easily. The defenders were nothing close to organised as I easily flicked the ball over them and confused them with an air elastico. I continued my attack as I neared the goal with only the goalie in my way.
I perfectly executed a direct shot which landed in the back of the net before the goalie could even register anything.

"Team Z: 1:0.", the speaker announced.
I turned around to see the surprised faces of both Team Z and Team V.
"What the-?! I told you to stay out of it!", Raichi complained as he grabbed me by the shirt.
"Sure you wanna do that?", I asked as the speaker warned him
"Raichi Jingo, yellow card. Resume the game."
"Tch."
"Stop it Raichi! Or else we'll be losing you too!", Kunigami warned with a stern expression.
However contrary to Team Z's situation, Team V looked full of spirits.
"Nagi, let's do that too!"
"What? It's such a hassle though..."

The game resumed with Team V's kickoff.
Mikage passed the ball with top spin at a low trajectory. Normally a pass like this wouldn't work.
However to everyone's expectations for Nagi to fail, he did the unthinkable.
"This is what I meant with you being not on par. See?", I stated as Nagi perfectly trapped the ball with a jumping trap making the ball lose any momentum it had.
"Hup."

"Team V: 1:1.", the speaker announced.

"No way..."
"How are we supposed to beat that?"
"Piece of cake.", Nagi remarked as Mikage came over to praise him.
"Nice goal, Nagi! Just like I pictured it!"
"Reo, can I slack off now?"
"Not yet. Get 5 more goals at least."
"Come on... How about 4?", Nagi tried negotiating.

"See? This is what separates you and them.", I commented harshly.
"We already got our hands full with them. Don't be an ass on top of that!", Iga-guri bit back.
"Huh? At least I scored, didn't I? No?", I taunted.
"Guh..!"
He couldn't even argue with my statement. Of course he couldn't. I did score alone. Something he'd never be able to do no matter how many times he gets reborn.
"Resume play."
