Im supposed to be studying but everytime i study i get big ideas, so hear me out.
Imagine this.
Reader isn't some sort of person that was born with godly powers, she was originally just like a regular human.
Just like the characters in this novel.
Now reader was born as the youngest child, but was cursed by a mysterious vengeful spirit.
That if the reader is found wandering outside the palace wall by the spirit , bad luck will chase the family for the next centuries.
All because the king and queen didn't invite the spirit (sleeping beauty reference ahem)
So her parents started to dress her up as a boy throughout her entire childhood.
It became like that till the citizens completely forgot that one of the king's children is a girl. And that the "princess" was just a myth.
Yes yes reader is still royalty.
Reader throughout her childhood life was addressed with male pronouns.
Their parents felt like they were forcing their child to be someone they never wanted to be and hiding the truth from them.
Unaware that the same child found out when her brother told her the difference between a boy and girl.
But why didn't she feel upset? Because she also wanted to be a boy despite being a girl at the same time.
Thats how reader realized that they were genderfluid. Embracing both femininity and masculinity.
At the age of seven, her parents were assassinated.
The same day where reader was ready to tell her parents that yes, she knew, but she wanted things to remain the same.
She was seven and her brother was seventeen.
At the age of seventeen, the crown prince, her older brother became the king.
This is where reader's identity as a female at birth was revealed to the public.
People didn't expect the myth to be true. But there she is, dressed in female robes.
Now the entire kingdom went from calling you prince to princess.
The curse was still there, and per rules, you were stuck inside the palace walls.
It made you feel upset, but you got more upset when you realized how females were treated differently.
In the past, you see servants, specifically the eunuchs, greeted you with respect. Now they snicker and smirk just to see you passing by.
